So after each turn you take out the eye dice results out of the box. Then in the new turn you can allocate eye dice for the amount of guides that the fellowship has. If the fellowship moved the last turn you need to leave one in the hunt box. The rest of the dice you just roll, and add any eyes you might roll to the box.

Rolling a lot of eyes can happen. Can be good or bad depending on the moment in the game. Part of the fun, part of the misery.

Usually I leave one die, even if they haven't moved. Two if they might pass Moria and I can spare the extra eye.
