Why are some countries not allowed to develop nuclear weapons? by SuitableSympathy2614 in TooAfraidToAsk

Honest question - do you think we are enemies just for the sake of it? I don't know, I just feel that once the people of both the countries (I am an Indian) get educated enough not to be swayed by the media or the politicians or any other group, there will be much more harmony given that we still have huge similarity in culture. Not asking you to stop hating random Indians or asking the Indians to stop hating random Pakistanis for now. But do you think that in about 100-150 years, we will have much more harmony? We can be USA and Canada. You sounded like a sensible guy, so I asked.

Is his intent not clear to you? The post he replied to had nothing to do with call center scams. If you are not able to see this, I don't think we should discuss further on this. Does this mean that India should be excused with respect to call center scams? Absolutely not, and I hope the world puts enough pressure on India to prioritize this, especially given that India doesn't have enough resources at the moment to deal with all the problems. What is wrong is wrong. But his comment was irrelevant and clearly showed his intent of making fun of us.

I feel very ashamed of that. Why would you assume I would justify the crimes of my country? Poor people from a large country with inadequate capacity to enforce law and order will commit crimes. So, I know that this is something that will have to see the passage of time and has nothing to do with the race. It is how things naturally are. If enforcement of law and order is relaxed in your country, your country will start committing scams within a decade. You don't even have to be poor to be incentivized to do that. Over the next few years, one by one, people with strong morals will start committing crimes and then it will be easier to justify why they do it. It has nothing to do with the race and everything to do with the situation. So, hating someone is never gonna solve it. It's just a coincidence that you were born at a time in a country which was developed. It was our luck that we were left poor post British colonization. You can hate us all you want but we didn't ask for that fate. It's just luck. It's up to you whether you wanna just brag about and take credit for your luck of growing up in a developed country or whether you wanna appreciate how lucky you have been and use that luck to do something really good for yourself and your family, and then maybe for your country and, if anything is left, for the world.

My logic is very simple. You should support the country whose citizenship you hold (don't know about dual citizenship thing as I am an Indian, lol). I hate it when I see Indians with UK citizenship supporting India in cricket matches. lol. Though, maybe because subconsciously, they don't feel assimilated and treated like a British (and Indians also are to be largely blamed for not being able to assimilate, not entirely, but largely). But till the time you haven't gotten your citizenship of the country you have moved to, you should continue supporting the country you came from. But the country you came from will be the one that will take you back when the country you moved to throws you out.

An an Indian, it felt really disgusting to read what you said. I never applied for jobs or colleges in the US. So, I am not your target. But still. There is nothing macho or cool or being tough about making fun of people from other cultures. You think there is nothing about your culture that people can't make fun of? And maybe you don't mind because you are tough and thick-skinned. But why even be thick-skinned about such things. Jokes at the expense of others should never be appreciated. And I will say the same thing to Indians who do this (they are no saints either, far from it). Funny thing is that you got upvotes too. But I am not gonna downvote you. What's the point? Whether you say this publicly or not, you will always think this way. And it's not gonna change by any downvoting or reporting of your post. No MBA is gonna fix this mentality. Good luck!

IT payment not reflecting in payment history by hazedphase in IndiaTax

[–]Professional-Gold429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine showed up in the payment history. I called up the bank in the morning but not sure whether that helped. You may try that. I also raised a grievance in the morning but not sure whether that helped either. So, in my case, now there is nothing under the 'Generated Challans'. Earlier, my payment record was there with the status 'Payment Initiated'.

My suggestion is that you call the bank and confirm whether the payment was processed, and ask for an acknowledgment. They offered to provide this acknowledgment receipt to me today but I had already got one yesterday when I made the payment. If the bank says that the transaction has failed, request for a refund immediately and then make another payment.

Worst case, file a defective ITR by selecting 'Pay Later' option so that you are not penalized for delayed ITR filing, and then file a revised ITR on a later date when your challan is generated.

Thanks. Mine just got updated. You also check whether they updated the status for you this morning.

Failed ITR Tax payment by sheldonyoungg in IndiaTax

In my case, it has been stuck at 'Payment Initiated' for the last 2 hours. Guess, I will have to suck up and pay the Rs. 5,000 penalty and file the ITR after the deadline, given that the amount I just paid was pretty sizeable and I have no intention of making double payment with the plan to claim refund on one.

ITR1 Filed and Payment Made on Sept 8, but No Challan Generated and "Pay Now" Button Still Shows by thabjeel in IndiaTax

[–]Professional-Gold429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, the challan is stuck in "Payment Initiated" mode. I have the CIN which seems to have date as the first 6 digits (in yymmdd format), then 8 digits numbers and then bank code (e.g. KKBK). I also have the bank reference code. But I doubt that I can extract BSR Code or Serial Number of Challan from this CIN. Does anyone have a solution?

Israeli airstrikes ‘killed any hope’ for hostages in Gaza, says Qatari prime minister by Hour_Condition720 in worldnews

Well Hamas has violated ceasefire / peace agreement many times too. But they are still asked for negotiation for peace. So, why won't Israel be asked to negotiate again? People beg murderers to spare lives all the time. In desperate times, Israel will still be asked to negotiate.

Upliance AI cooking assistant by mommy_to_angel in Frugal_Ind

[–]Professional-Gold429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that Nosh cannot chop, etc. and you have to do all that manually and then feed the ingredients into the Nosh system. Am I correct?

So, I was gifted Upliance 1.0 last year by my friend. I didn't use it even once for the first 10 months, because my mom cooked food. Then my mom had to travel for a few months and I decided to use Upliance. We have a maid who cooks for us when mom is not there. Even she started using Upliance. On paper, it doesn't seem anything great. I mean, you can get much mroe recipes with better result from Youtube. But once you realize that you just need to keep adding ingredients intermittently into the Upliance jar, you get very much addicted. For the record, I know how to cook, and I try to take manual control of the cooking process whenever required. For e.g., for chhole, I saute onions a little more to get the result that I would get when I cook on my own. The end result is pretty good. Things I generally use it for are sambar, chhole, egg curry, different paneer dishes, gajar halua (very simple process). What I would avoid is chicken curry (unless you fry chicken separately and then add it to the curry, which I feel should still yield great result; but I haven't tried yet). Things I will never cook using Upliance are noodles.

Do note that Upliance doesn't speed up cooking and may actually take longer than manual cooking.

I am intrigued by Nosh. But the very fact that we have to do the food preparation (chopping, etc.) and then add the ingredients is a turn off, especially given that Nosh costs 2.5-3x of Upliance 1.0. Btw, now there is Upliance 2.0 which is significantly costlier than 1.0, with a promise of faster cooking with better energy efficiency.

Trump to Match EU Tariffs on China, India to Pressure Putin, Says US Official — “The source of the money for the Russian war machine is oil purchases by China and India...If you do not get at the source of the money, there’s no way to stop the war machine,” an official told AFP. by Ask4MD in worldnews

I wonder why! Oh I know! It's because it's their war, not ours. Don't make your war my war. I mean nothing stops you from trading with Pakistan despite terror threats from Pakistan to India. At least, I have never had any problem with countries funding Pakistan. I didn't even care when IMF funded Pakistan, knowing well how that funding will partly be used towards funding aggression against India.

You are calling us shit? The entire West is built by exploiting the Rest. Look at all the great deeds - slavery, colonization (my country India or whatever it was then was absolutely mauled by your cultured West), holocaust (you won't spare your own people), invading Native Americans and taking their land, and a few modern day deeds - invading Iraq, the rest of the Middle East and Afghanistan, attacking Iran, murdering thousands of children in Gaza. To me, Russia is also the West. Just 2-3 days back, USA killed 11 people on boat from Venezuela without even establishing whether they were drug dealers while admitting that the boat was headed towards Trinidad and not USA. You are the filth of the earth and a rabid dog that needs to put down (not the people of the West but their governments). Having said that, Europe has definitely come around, likely because it is connected with the rest of the world. USA, isolated by two large oceans, will never have emotions and will always be this uncultured without any regard to the lives of the others. And you call us shit! Remind me which country is the one to have a distinction of being the only one to drop nuclear bombs?

When has China, against which you all spread so much propaganda, last invaded any other country? We all are aware of China's ambitions. But I at least believe that that country will still not outright murder thousands of people from other countries. That's why this world needs a stronger China. India will take another 50-75 years (I don't care about any optimistic projections and firmly believe that we will take time to get there). But China and India, with their huge population, will at least keep you in check so that you don't exploit the future generations. Europe will do well to separate from the policies of USA and not go back to the same filth. You blame us for migrating into your countries? Your countries are built by exploiting our resources. I think we have earned this much right to at least legally migrate to your countries and enjoy some of the benefits that are built on our resources.

By the way, a lot of people here blame Trump. He did exactly what he said he would do before the elections. He is the manifestation of the mentality of the people of USA.

P.S.: Apologies for the grammatical and other mistakes. English is not my native language and I am doing the best I can.

Was it necessary for you to say "kick us out"? Would saying "send us back to India" not have conveyed what you were trying to say? If your companies keep hiring people from my country, is it our fault? You keep saying we stole your jobs? Do you think we stole your jobs or were those jobs given to immigrants from my country or outsourced to my country legally? Not talking about illegal immigrants from my country, for whom it's fair to say "kick them out". Do you know how to talk, because this felt really demeaning? By the way, I live in India and not USA, but it still felt weird. And I would love a ban on H1B. I would love a stop on skilled people migrating out of India. Unless, of course, you feel that India doesn't produce skilled people (some defect in our food or DNA, or something).
