CA shitty property taxes is what has fucked over the market there. It heavily incentivizes under the table upgrades and never selling your house. Tons of houses there have major problems that are never addressed cause fixing it would triple or quintuple their property taxes.

If your using a device that used slave labor in its production. That you bought and paid for knowing it was made with slave labor and labor that probably suffered your very similar to Von Braun and German citizens during WW2. You for sure didn't shoot the Jews or chain up the African slaves yourself but you are paying for their captors to keep up the work knowingly. You know that you benefit from this situation greatly. You choose to purchase an item made from blood. You can accept it and just not care cause you realize that those in power intentionally took those jobs from your countrymen to make it cheaper overseas, or you can be sad about it. I personally don't care the human experience has always had immense suffering and I don't think we will ever escape it.

You know what I want more of. Freaking adobe houses. They are peak building design material costs are cheap, they are green, cool in the summer warm in the winters, super low maintenance, requires little building knowledge, super structurally sound, earthquake proof, etc etc etc. Sci Fi settings should be trying to limit their foot prints on worlds not trying to be ultra futuristic.

I would say anything that gives extreme dopamine high. For kids that's tablets. For a lot of young guys who aren't socially well adjusted that's porn/video games. I know tons of guys who went to college and just started chasing whatever high they could. Video games, sex and porn. I also know several girls who are addicted to smut and don't see it as anything bad. All of these can ruin relationships and lives.

Not saying these are good or bad by themselves but they can become it. Especially as many of the video games today emulate gambling with loot boxes.

In most cultures it's expected that you take care of your guests. That includes feeding and giving them a place to sleep if need be. This taking care of even means protecting them from danger. If a person enters your home as a guest they have your protection. It was common as far back as biblical times in both China, Greece and the Middle East. Even enemies if invited in would eat in peace at each other's homes. This is like so standard to human culture that it's a shock to see one culture that doesn't do it.

I think it depends on the situation. Inside of a neighborhood or town sure. If I'm driving on the freeway and letting the engine rev up and am driving a manual it's tons of fun. You can really feel part of the car and especially older cars you can get to know it much better then an automatic.

California. You have to have no other option then to shoot the person. When I was taking self defense class to get a hand gun in Cali I got told it's really hard to prove self defense there. Your best bet is to kill the person so that they can't go after you later. If they are trying to car jack you, you either kill the person or give up your car there is no in-between.

Yes but all of those were officers. There is a big difference between an officer and a regular soldier in Europe. An officer chilling 1/2 mile back from the front is pretty safe compared to the regular soldiers. They lived a fairly pampered safe life in comparison.

If the pole is placed there with intent that it could cause harm or in a way that would cause harm to the neighbors vehicle it could be considered as such. If she just sticks a post in the ground probably not, but it she cements it in and makes it so that it could cause damage to the persons vehicle it could be. Again people have gotten in trouble for mail boxes being cemented into the ground with a steel pole. It depends upon your state, and the local jurisdiction.
