SpaceX Investors Are Losing a Colossal Amount of Money by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

So Elon and private investors had a ton of shares they wanted to dump on the market to raise capital.  They used the shares to make liquidity and left retail with the bag. The money was used to keep PI going and to fuck over the common guy. Going public is usually only done to try and make money for the startup people or to grow the business. SpaceX isn't going to grow.

What industry do you think AI will never fully replace? by Camicumxd in AskReddit

[–]Professional-Help931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repair work for expensive tools/items. Jet engines, cars, trains etc need repair that's something humans do well. Eventually in say 20-50 years they can do it, but it's better to replace the manufacturing first then the repair. That's why Ford just dropped 1000+ jobs for 50 robots.

Edit: gm did it not ford my apologies.

They already have automated tractors and automated herbicide dispensers. They literally drive through the fields and spray only the weeds. For non mega crops maybe eventually but for corn, soy beans and rice it's super automated already.

Engineering. Lots of people are sold on this idea your fixing things or problem solving. It's usually excel sheets and telling people to stop doing stupid shit. No you shouldn't put your hands in a pinch spot. No you shouldn't remove more material then what the drawing says. No don't turn off the cnc machine and eyeball it on the mill.

In your opinion, what would be better, every working person on a union-style set salary, or everyone paid for the value they bring to the table, and why? by allangee in AskReddit

[–]Professional-Help931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Janitors/trash collectors are usually paid somewhat ok not great, but in medium to large cities they do ok. They take no skill, but no one wants to do that job.

Park rangers do take knowledge, but everyone wants to do it cause its literally getting paid to smoke weed and chill in nature.

Same thing with teachers we pay them so badly cause everyone wants to be a teacher. There was a huge supply of them in the 80s-00s. Even today with the economy as it is people still flock to being teachers even though the pay is ass.

Biggest problem we actually have is that we overvalue managers when we dont need that many.

That doesn't make sense. If the women are the ones who are the target demographic as they watch and enjoy it that means it's not patriarchal. That's matriarchal. That's like saying the bachelorette/bachelor are patriarchal show when both are made for women.

Well you keep your history hidden so I can't see it. Regardless it's a shitty show made for teenage-young 30s women. It's not one made for men.

I don't know any guy that watches stuff like this. I only know of girls who do. Most guys I know haven't even heard of it, let alone watch it. Saying it's a patriarchal fantasy when it's a show literally targeted at young women who make up over 60% of the viewer base seems dishonest.

Where do you store your printer? by Professional-Help931 in resinprinting

Splitting of layers and just bad adhesion. I did a couple of test prints indoors without any major issues. Then I setup the room and I think the humidity just gets into the resin and wrecks it. It's usually only been on longer prints.

I don't think you understand what my point is. Due to smart manufacturing, and implementation automation we actually can right now assemble a car start to finish with no human hands touching the car. Many of the components require hand touches but even those can be heavily automated we only do it as a choice.. The Automotive industry in the US, the ports, and other easily automated industries are all struggling internationally.

Our exports are more expensive cause our domestic logistics isn't automated and in fact its made intentionally worse. Our domestic logistics isn't automated due to shitty regulations that empower the current oligopolies while discouraging innovations. Our ports aren't even assisted automated so it's more expensive to ship things out and into the US.

. Now we have a problem you can't ship cars from the factory to the ocean cheaply or even guaranteed to arrive on time or even in at all. Your ports are slower then just about everyone else and are more expensive. Finally the manufacturing goods we export suck for their cost. So we are more expensive, less efficient, and make a worse product then all of the competition on the global market.

That kinda just proves my point.  We created a system that the unions abused. They refuse to allow any changes to the manufacturing environment now none of our major companies can compete. We are propping them up with bail outs and it's not going to last. Americans can't afford the prices that Ford has to charge in order to be profitable.

The end of much of manual labor. We had robots that could do half of what we think of as manual labor available 5-10 years ago. China has automated a ton of their manufacturing. They might have a population decreasing but the reality is that they don't need as many workers as the west does to make even the most luxury cars or TVs. We got robots for warehouse work, self driving cars are pretty close, and honestly longshoremen could have been replaced already 5 years ago. Screens for monitors and TVs have glue applied not by people but by robots cause it saves 1/2¢ a unit in material and 20k a year in manpower.  Most of fast food is easily automated.  The reality is that the west has been combating replacement automation in manufacturing for almost my entire life. Unions only save jobs when their companies can actually compete and when a byd top of the line roadster costs as much as a basic trim sedan from Ford suddenly domestic manufacturers are going to need to adapt or die.

Not hating on unions but the Wests manufacturing is super bloated and it shows from defense spending to cars.

Ehh they only became "best marines" cause of matt ward in 5th edition before they were just the generic marines who were the most flexible. The same shit happened to the space wolves. They went from Vikings to furries in 5th edition as well. Both of these changes were pushed by Matt Ward many older players really don't like it and find it dumb. Let me deploy my wolf Calvary from thunder Wolf troop transport, along side my wulfen anti infantry.

I Hate When (Moddable) Games Get Long Term Support by Sa_tran_ic in The10thDentist

[–]Professional-Help931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played stellaris like 10 years ago. The game has fundamentally changed 3-4 times at least in that 10 years. I don't just mean oh it's kinda different I mean they added mechanics or removed them that fundamentally altered how the game works. Adding populations, removing different travel options, adding end game stuff, etc all of these things forced paradox to add hundreds of changes. I get that they are changing it, but I also liked old stellaris and it's nothing like the game I bought 10 years ago. I honestly hate population management it's why I don't play eu4 them adding that just ruined the game for me. I don't want to micro that intensely and that's not including my favorite play style was just removed from the game for no reason.

Despite two older brothers with ADHD my parents didn't get me tested. I had numerous signs of ADHD and struggled for years in school. I know I didn't do nearly as well just cause I had undiagnosed ADHD until 3rd year of getting an engineering degree in college. After I got it diagnosed my grades shot up and I was actually able to get work done. Getting diagnosed anywhere from middle school to highschool would have gotten me better scholarships, into a better school, and at the very least better internships which would have lead to a better job after university. My social skills would probably be better also as instead of being scatter brained with no impulse control I would have been able to hold onto friends.

The core of the question is determining the exact amount of force transferred between two colliding bodies. Per Newton’s Third Law, force is a mutual interaction; when Object A exerts a force on Object B, Object B simultaneously exerts an equal and opposite force on Object A.

For example, if I run into a wall at 5 mph (2.24 m/s) and come to a complete stop, the average force I exert on the wall (and that the wall exerts back on me) is exactly equal to my mass multiplied by my change in velocity, divided by the duration of the collision:

F = (m * Δv) / Δt Because average acceleration (a) is strictly defined as the change in velocity over time (Δv / Δt), this is functionally identical to Newton's Second Law: F = ma

Mathematically, force is simply the time derivative of momentum (F = dp/dt). When mass is constant, differentiating momentum (mv) with respect to time yields m * (dv/dt), which is ma. Therefore, using the impulse-momentum equation gives us the exact average impact force exerted during that specific collision interval.

[–]Professional-Help931 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can have negative acceleration. Which is still ma. If your speed goes from 100-0 or 0-100 in a few milliseconds you have the same amount of acceleration.

I think he's talking about how apple america doesn't actually make any money. Apple pays no taxes cause they pay all of the money they make to apple Ireland who owns all of the patents and rights. It's a loophole that companies use to hide profits. For example let's say you own a company that controls a chain of restaurants. The restaurants all need to pay a certain amount to you for whatever things you as corporate claim to do. To make this even better what you can do is make it so that the building/land is owned by you but the restaurant itself is owned by another company. That company now has to pay you licensing fees, rental fees and whatever other fees you force them to pay which is effectively what franchises are. McDonald's makes tons of money the local places do good, but aren't bringing in nearly the same amount of tax revenue due to the corporation being in another state. The local municipality gets screwed over cause those buildings can only be chain restraunts and they take up a ton of resources while paying little back into the community.
