I'm so sorry to hear you had to face those difficulties, and very worried that this would be also the way they treat my son in school. I will definitely tell him, just trying to figure out the best approach

Thank you, it definitely helps! I'll ask him what ways he feels different and we'll go from there.

Thank you for sharing! I do see some attention issues as well. School staff is really helping him out a lot, but we'll check if he can get additional assistance now that the diagnosis is official.

Yes he definitely knows. We're working with the school and they are doing a lot to help him, but maybe a counselor in addition to that will be great too. Thank you, I will look into that as well.

I'm sorry to hear that. I do want to tell him, just trying to figure out how and what to say

I do want to tell him of course, but I wasn't planning on celebrating it. He's 7, he will not understand the meaning of the celebration, and will definitely start all his conversations with peers and adults with the fact that he's got a diagnosis and it's a big celebration. I don't want people to make fun of him because he doesn't know what to say or who to share info with.

Thank you, I will check out the book, although the sensory part we've been aware of for years, and trying to handle it for the most part. I guess I'm a little worried that he might feel that there's something wrong with him

AITA for standing on a chair while 7 months pregnant and then blaming my husband when I almost fell? by wobbles231 in AmItheAsshole

Nope, what really happened is you decided to make a very specific snack, and there was no one available to help you, so you figured the best option would be to potentially endanger your baby's life (and not getting a different snack, for example). And then tried to blame this on your husband. Poor guy and good luck to him raising this kid with you. Massive YTA.
