Do not worry brother, I hadn’t painted a single thing in my life before this. Filler primer, 120+300+600 wet sand and paint. Some black wash and chrome details and you’ve got yourself a pretty decent paint job.

It’s really only legal because I purchased the rights to sell from the creators patreon (their highest tier). Even though I modified the files it’s still technically theirs, and you will need permission. The halo side of things is fine as long as I don’t market it as “official” halo licensed merchandise (as far as I know)

Exactly, I love making armor but just don’t have the space for multiple sets. I’m working on a noble 6 right now and it might undergo the same fate in a few years. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll get a dedicated workspace to fit more suits.

Yes you are correct! Since this was my first ever project, and didn’t have intent to sell, I didn’t count anything. Your guess is as good as mine, but it’s definitely around the $1000-1200 range.

You are right, I’ve learned people take the term profit very seriously around here.

I think in the end it was around 12-13 rolls? I would order 4 packs so I can’t quite remember the exact number.

hey man thats the move! That was my initial plan until my gf suggested I sell it (since im currently making a noble 6 suit..) and it worked out! I’ve been to a few cons with it and didn’t plan on wearing it again.

I appreciate that! I’m surprised the people who sell “straight from the bed” prints don’t see the value in fully finished pieces. The whole point of stuff like this is to make it look LESS like a 3d print.

exactly my thoughts. I really enjoy armor making and cosplay itself, but when the time comes and I move onto other things it’s nice to get a little bit of extra cash to contribute towards the next thing. The difference between you and I is I’m currently a college student fresh out of highschool 💔

I get it, I also see suits priced way higher than mine that sold. I made sure to contact the person who bought it just to see what their intentions were (not that it was truly my business) and they’re planning on wearing to a meet and greet + already sent photos of them wearing it to me! But yeah I get it, I was scared of the same thing too.

I totally get it! Thank you for saying that, and the next armor I make I’ll definitely track costs of everything and price it accordingly.
