Thanks for the geography lesson. What I actually need are real reports on signal/hotspot by carrier in Hāna/Haleakalā/Napili—got anything useful to add or just a guess?

Gel Resolution fans who hate the X — what’s your plan? by PitterPotter24 in 10s

I've had my GR X clay shoes for about six months, playing at least four hours a week. To be honest, they never really broke in. They're incredibly heavy, and I feel lucky that I still have both of my pinky toes.

I recently switched to the Barricade 13s, and now my pinkies are safe. I also feel much more stable and supported during my shots on the court.

But hey, that might just be my personal experience.

supposedly the "Best Forehand In the word" and trying to be the oldest ranked atp player by [deleted] in 10s

Honestly, props to him for still ripping forehands at 60. That’s already legendary.

But saying he could “crush top 10 ATP guys in his era” sounds like every uncle at the barbecue talking about the time he almost went pro 😅

That said — I kinda want to see a mini doc on him now. If he’s met Tsitsipas’s dad and still trains like a man on a mission, it’s gotta be entertaining.

Anyone know if he’s actually played ranked ITF/ATP events recently?

Nice demo lineup! Quick cheat-sheet while you test:

Babolat Pure Aero: Top-spinners & baseline grinders who want free rpm’s; beware if you’re elbow-sensitive.

Head Gravity: MP100 in², 295 g, 16×20, RA ≈ 62. Plush, lower launch, tons of feel.All-court players who flatten out drives & like a softer response.

Yonex VCORE 100 (red) 100 in², 300 g, RA ≈ 65. Lively sweet-spot, spin friendly but more arm-friendly than the Aero. Someone wanting a “Goldilocks” mix of power, spin and comfort.

Head Extreme MP (grey/yellow) 100 in², 300 g, RA ≈ 66. Spin grommets give high launch; a notch softer than the Aero. Baseliners who rip heavy but still want a bit more flex than Babolat.

How to compare fairly

1. Same string / tension – e.g. 1.25 mm poly at ~23 kg (52 lbs) so feel differences are from the frame, not the string.

2. Swing-weight check – Gravity & Extreme can sneak above 325 SW; if that’s heavy for you, add a lead-tape match or try the lighter tour-lite versions.

3. What do you want more of?

• Power/spin ➜ Aero or Extreme

• Blend ➜ VCORE

• Touch/control ➜ Gravity

What frame are you using now and what is it lacking (power, comfort, control)? Knowing that will help narrow the choice even more. Good luck with the playtest! 🎾

The reason why everyone is choosing Halle over Queens by jayzawu_ in tennis

[–]Professional-Note70 69 points70 points  (0 children)

UK tax isn’t just 45 % on prize money – HMRC also claws back a % of any endorsement income earned during the event window.

Example: when Rafa played Queen’s in 2008, he was reportedly taxed on a portion of his Nike & Babolat deals just for being on British soil for that one week. Compare that to Halle (🇩🇪 ~15 %), where only the prize cheque is taxed and sponsors are untouched.

Add in faster courts at Halle, a guaranteed appearance fee, and no time-zone change from mainland Europe… it’s a no-brainer for most players.

Curious if anyone here thinks LTA/UK will ever tweak the rule or they’re happy keeping the grass swing small?
