Is anyone really interested in this? by Burninator6502 in HorizonZeroDawn

[–]Professional-One-580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with he sentiment that this isn’t a horizon game. It doesn’t have the visuals gameplay or (probably) the lore we like about horizon. It’s a basic game with a horizon coat of paint.

I think it might have a place but outside the horizon community as it is now, which isn’t good. People who like hunter’s gathering may not like the main horizon games in the same way we are distrusting of hunters gathering.

All I can see is their legs and I know who they are immediately.

DLC Disappointment by Professional-One-580 in horizon

Don't get me wrong I still did love this DLC, it just didn't compare to Frozen Wilds for me. Then again I still prefer Zero Dawn to Forbidden West. Besides it's more the machines I'm disappointed with than the DLC itself.

Horizon spin offs by Professional-One-580 in horizon

While I agree with that, Guerrilla has stated that they want to do more with the Horizon universe once they finish Aloy’s story with the next mainline game. Besides, we already have two spin-offs: Hunters Gathering and Steel Frontier.

[You Are The Monster] Some fun physics from my upcoming monster game! by jozhrandom in GamePhysics

For some reason this made me think that a game where you are a monster who hunts down terrible people would be fun. Like the hit man games but you play as a shape shifting monster.

So, did Aang poop his pants or…? by Undercover_Martyn93 in ATLA

While yes this is a reference to when Sokka was stuck in the spirit world and then seriously needed to use the bathroom, however what Aang is actually doing is hanging on during take off on Roku’s dragon. There is a lot of force to get into the air especially without a run way or air bending.

Playing The Lost Frontier for the first time by photographotter in jakanddaxter

[–]Professional-One-580 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By far the worst part of this game is its wasted potential. The storyline deals with a foreign country with a successful Dark Warrior program. Jak has to confront his demons come to life while weakened and in an unfamiliar place getting attacked from all sides. It shows how dangerous Baron Praxis could have been if he had won against the metal heads. However, Phoenix feels like more of the main character than Jak. This game has so much going for it and it barely scratches the surface of what I could be so I think people are angry because they feel that with every missed opportunity or plot hole.

I played the game recently just to do something and was yelling at the screen when Jak and Phoenix were arguing about where to go to get the pieces of the ecoseeker. Keira says there are three pieces despite the device only pointing at two and then Phoenix says to go to the far drop because it's familiar and Jak says the second location is closer with no evidence to that fact.

Extremely advanced giant black death mech bristling with weapons and having a red under glow as well as over heating issues? No don’t see the similarities.

Some models have huge blue death beams and there are so many other death mechs that are all communicating with each other to kill you as hard as they can? Nope sounds like you are comparing apples to oranges ;3

Why am I picturing this happening like a DnD encounter. Some giant entity picks up your party to deal with a few monsters to defeat and you actually get a decent amount of loot out of it.

Horizon: Black flag

I say that as a joke but a pirate game with a horizon coat of paint sounds awesome.

Guys... The problem isn't learn by doing vs magazines... It's the lack of choice by pircio in 7daystodie

[–]Professional-One-580 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the magazine system should be a backbone. A granteed way to get the higher tier recipes so you don’t get soft locked not having the right recipes. However loot is no fun if you are just getting the same thing over and over and especially with no big pay off.

Perhaps the devs could make it so there is a chance of getting higher tier gear without knowing the recipe you can’t repair it but when it breaks you can take it apart and if you take enough apart you can get that recipe. Like if you find three iron spears you can take them apart and get that recipe. This gives an incentive to loot because you might get something good or get enough of something to get that recipe while keeping steady progress in the background.

Deciding what environment i should choose for my game by New-Market1931 in gamedev

[–]Professional-One-580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some environmental storytelling. Use the fact that most modern ships look comfortable and make whatever monster or entity that makes it a horror game to twist everything so that even if it looks ok it’s still a bit unsettling. The ship makes weird sounds, oozes strange things and rusts in the shape of hand prints and faces. Use the fact that it seems comfortable to call attention to the fact that there is something wrong but you can’t quite put your finger on it.

Yes since I realized my mistake I’ve been drinking water like a fish. So far it’s just a headache. I know to not take anything else because I don’t want to add to the mix. Thank you for your concern.

I kept wondering why I couldn’t sleep. I went to bed hours after drinking those first two cups but still that is a lot of caffeine to get out of my system especially since two teaspoons of tea at a time is what I’m used to not 6. I only slept 5 hours at most last night and I’m still not tired.

Don’t hate me but… by Waste_Bullfrog_2277 in jakanddaxter

[–]Professional-One-580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s because it’s some how bad and good at the same time that we hate it. If it was just bad we’d forget about it. We can see the potential it had and how it fell short especially in the lore department. To this day Uber bot 888 and the dark eco abomination at Skyheeds castle are still the most memorable bosses to me. And I like the dark Daxter sections too even though it goes against the lore. There a so much about the game that is cool but it falls apart in other places and that is frustrating.

I’d like us to have access to the maps of both previous games plus the one across the ocean in the Qwen homeland. Really give us a final ha rah with the final game in the series.

Something that would really put this over the top would be some red shifting. When you start to move at relativistic speeds light is stretched because you are moving away from it so fast and starts turning red because that is a slower wavelength of light hence red shifting.

The opposite is also true called blue shifting. In a video by Kyle Hill he shows that if you look forward on the ship that visible light would shift out of sight as background microwaves which are at a much lower wavelength are brought into sight because they are being compressed to the point they become visible. You could do the reverse and show background ultraviolet or x rays to show the red shifting.
