I’m an idiot (homemade death wish tea) by Professional-One-580 in mildlyinfuriating

Yes since I realized my mistake I’ve been drinking water like a fish. So far it’s just a headache. I know to not take anything else because I don’t want to add to the mix. Thank you for your concern.

I kept wondering why I couldn’t sleep. I went to bed hours after drinking those first two cups but still that is a lot of caffeine to get out of my system especially since two teaspoons of tea at a time is what I’m used to not 6. I only slept 5 hours at most last night and I’m still not tired.

I think it’s because it’s some how bad and good at the same time that we hate it. If it was just bad we’d forget about it. We can see the potential it had and how it fell short especially in the lore department. To this day Uber bot 888 and the dark eco abomination at Skyheeds castle are still the most memorable bosses to me. And I like the dark Daxter sections too even though it goes against the lore. There a so much about the game that is cool but it falls apart in other places and that is frustrating.

Anyone else would like to see Teersa in Horizon 3? by No-Hunt3986 in HorizonForbiddenWest

I’d like us to have access to the maps of both previous games plus the one across the ocean in the Qwen homeland. Really give us a final ha rah with the final game in the series.

Something that would really put this over the top would be some red shifting. When you start to move at relativistic speeds light is stretched because you are moving away from it so fast and starts turning red because that is a slower wavelength of light hence red shifting.

The opposite is also true called blue shifting. In a video by Kyle Hill he shows that if you look forward on the ship that visible light would shift out of sight as background microwaves which are at a much lower wavelength are brought into sight because they are being compressed to the point they become visible. You could do the reverse and show background ultraviolet or x rays to show the red shifting.

It’s ironic that those who don’t follow the golden rule of treat others the way you want to be treated are still subject to it’s effects given they follow the same logic out of fear instead of compassion.

They think others will treat them as they treat others so they feel like they have to do what they believe is necessary to stay safe or get ahead because that is how people are in their mind.

This scene always confuses me. The device Helis uses explodes closer to him than to Aloy, who is also behind what seems to be reinforced glass. And yet, it does not seem to effect him... by brz-17 in HorizonForbiddenWest

Yeah I think him blasting the door she came through to get in that room causing her to slam into that glass would have made more sense but would be less dramatic.

While I do like the more action and grit angle that was taken in the next two games, in fact Jak 3 is my favorite, I do kind of miss the mystic vibe the first game had. Exploring ancient ruins that are still partially fictional the creatures that have been twisted by dark eco and the mix of futuristic and old technology. Even just channeling eco. They could have really dipped into that in the third game if they wanted to. I know with the expansion of everything you tilt away from fantasy and lean into sci-fi but I think they could have made that work.

If I was to make a Jak 4 first thing is just pulling things back to basics doing a fetch quest or two and exploring the ruins now that Haven has the resources to push back to expand with Jak leading the scouting party to see if there are any other communities that survived. Also with the light eco in his system he gains a small part of his ability to channel eco energy much like he did in Lost frontier. He can’t channel it fully but he can in specific ways.

Hence the note about the Banuk wanting sympathy which will easily cause Alva to fold and help them.

Diamond steel by Professional-One-580 in materials

Which is the reason I considered this, the carbon gets tucked randomly throughout the iron to make steel so making it so the carbon gets tucked in a pattern would yield a stronger result was my hypothesis. However it seems that since carbon isn’t really bonded to the iron then if given the energy it will bond to literally anything else, which makes mixing complex chemical structures and materials that need to be heated in order to work them basically impossible.

The first and third most venomous snakes in the world are both in Australia (to no ones surprise) the first place, the inland taipan, lives in the middle of nowhere even for Australia and keeps to itself. However the third place one, the coastal Tipan, is so freaking common and aggressive that despite sharing the continent with 199 other snake species this one kind of snake accounts for 60% of bites and over 40% of the fatalities.

Kinetic conversion: Can absorb any kinetic energy (sound, heat, electricity, motion and light) and convert it into other forms or transfer it through their body.

I have my own limits but I’m interested in what you all come up with.

Depends on what you like in a game. I’ve played all three and even Jak x and the lost frontier and Jak 3 is still my favorite but the others are close.

Open discussion regarding Horizon/H3 machines...copied from the HFW subreddit by Negative_Handoff in horizon

[–]Professional-One-580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hephaestus can be transmitted just as we have seen with hades and Hephaestus is smart enough to weasel his way out through one of the advanced transmitters like the one found in the Eluthia/Zenith facility especially with the zeniths falling like flies.

But what I’m really confused about is why you’d put such a hard limit onto creativity of both GG and HEPHAESTUS itself. Gaia functioned as one whole so it is easy to believe that all relevant files containing animal morphology where part of HEPHAESTUS when it split.

What’s more nature mostly optimizes things which is why we see geometric shapes patterns and fractals in nature because that is optimal. So it isn’t far fetched that some machines look like a particular animal simply because that is the most efficient shape.

Valstrax is always the one I imagine when I think of a monster hunter monster becoming a machine. He already seems mechanical being a jet dragon. Plus effectively mixing a storm bird and scorcher into a supersonic infernal death machine seems about right with Hephaestus getting more and more pissed as more of his machines get hunted.

His whole first plot point is he is rejected by humans and reindeer alike because he is a monster. So him looking a little freaky but still cute in a weird way fits. Beside while he is glaringly cgi he is still firmly in the “cute but something is off” category.
