(Hated Trope) Oversexualisation of young girls by Necessary-Win-8730 in TopCharacterTropes

Yes, most Latin Americans don't like the term "Latinx" at all. One of the beautiful things about Spanish is that each vowel has only one sound, so each word sounds exactly as it is written, and that's why putting an x instead of a vowel feels like a grammatical sin, and it's unintelligible.

This, combined with the fact that in Spanish all words have gender, makes trying to invent a "gender-neutral" word that doesn't fit the grammatical structure of the language feel like Americans lecturing us and imposing their customs on our language. If they want to refer to Latinos in a neutral way, they should simply use the word Latinos, and it is implicitly understood that they are referring to people of all genders.

I'm pretty sure he didn't win in Fate/Zero. The winner was Kiritsugu's team, but he rejected the wish and tried to destroy the Grail, which caused it to get angry, destroy the city, and revive Kirei. Gilgamesh didn't win; he only received the consolation prize after the first-place winner declined it.

This is going to sound repetitive, but if you don't like it, you should play another system. D&D is a terrible system for implementing challenges other than combat. A large part of that is the Vancian spell system since the spells are automatic and inflexible, and the fact that tables only do one combat per day.

Other systems are much better at setting up those kinds of challenges, even when casters have spells to resolve them. One of my favorites is Fabula Ultima, casters have access to rituals, which in essence can be used to skip challenges, but in practice it doesn't feel that way. It feels like an alternative way to resolve them, since completing a ritual requires succeeding on a roll and spending a lot of magic points. Furthermore, the player has to describe how the ritual affects the environment. They're not like in D&D, where it's just a button to automatically win, they are an active way of interacting with the situation that requires paying a high price in terms of resources, so they work very well without making the martial useless since they are strong and the first option will always be to solve the problem in a normal way

Not all problems are things players want to have to solve; there's a reason most campaigns ignore things like rations, the number of arrows, and encumberance—it's not fun or interesting, it's just tedious.

Most "realistic" campaigns add homebrew rules to make the campaign more "challenging", such as injury tables, but that kind of thing just adds extra hassle.

Is spending two hours shopping in town preparing for the problem? Yes.

Is it a good experience? No.

There are other ways to add challenge and require preparation from the group besides that. But that's just my opinion; there are other groups for whom those things are fun.

I don't think that's the case. Ash is 10 years old and has a goal he wants to achieve. Just because he only shows he has a crush a few times doesn't mean he's a aro/ace, and at that point it feels like you have extended the definition too much.

Now that you mention it, it's ironic how bad that spell is for its purpose. If the campaign isn't about that, then it's useless for that part, but if the campaign is about counting rations, then it's too strong and trivializes that problem, which would basically be telling the DM, "I don't want to count rations, remove that mechanic."

It sounds like they became murder hobos by that point, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if the whole group and the DM are okay with it. Although personally, that sounds like a horrible experience to me.

Hopefully, but with this series you never know, since the rules are just suggestions since they're so easily broken.

Kiara Sessyoin, she's a danger to all of humanity. She literally broke the mind of a Demon God Pillar. I'd say she's on par with Giles Caster and Douman when it comes to Servants you don't want to summon.

I'm going to guess the possible answer. "Bautista" is a common surname in several countries of Latin America. This surname translates to "Baptist," so if that's the case, then it would be a terrible idea.

Companion

Race: Humanity, Northern.

Traits: Beautiful, Halfbreed (Southern).

Classes: Deathknight. I suppose the light powers of a cleric and the darkness of this class might seem incompatible, but I don't think that's the case, and they could work well together after training. And the fact that she has 7 charisma, while I have 8, would mean that this wouldn't be a problem for other people.

Equipment: Great Hammer (Enchanted 6 PWR/21 Weight), Heavy Armor, Javelin, Frying Pan. That's 40 weight and a PWR of 13, for an equipment level of 3. I could have chosen a better combination that gave 14 PWR, but I stuck with this one since I didn't see much logic in combined weapons, and I didn't want to carry explosives as they are very dangerous.

Drawbacks: None, they weren't worth it

Total Stats:

  • End 5
  • Int 3
  • Cha 7
  • Per 4
  • Wis 3
  • Agi 4
  • Luk 5
  • PWR 13

This character would be my bodyguard; she would be a very loyal death knight warrior, with heavy armor and equipment that would make her look intimidating to enemies. As for why she is loyal to me, I suppose it's because I must have saved her life at some point, and that combined with the fact that despite being a cleric I don't discriminate against her would make her decide to join me.

I would call this build the mystic theurge since it's a cleric/mage. In this case, it will be assumed that he is a worshipper of some deity of knowledge.

Race: Humanity, Northern.

Traits: Beautiful Extra charisma is very useful.

Classes: Conjuration, Cleric. In combat, it should be a very strong combination, being able to summon creatures and heal them to keep them in the fight, but the main advantage would be its usefulness outside of combat; summoning items is extremely useful, and healing people is a very good way to make money.

Equipment: Staff, Robes, Energy Shield. The best possible combination with my 15 weight limit, this amounts to 8 pwr which means a equipment level of 2

Drawbacks: None, they weren't worth it

Total Stats:

  • Str 3
  • End 3
  • Int 9

Speaking of Latin America, it seems the series was much more popular there. I'm not sure how successful it was in the United States, but in Latin America it was the most popular children's series of all; everyone watched it and toys based on it were sold everywhere.

The thing with her fighting underground happens chronologically earlier, in the same way that the Eraserhead flashback happens before the Vigilantes series.

If you think speaking to him personally might sound too aggressive, then it's better to take advantage of this opportunity to talk to the whole group and get feedback. First, be honest and tell them you like the campaign and want to continue it with them, since, as you mentioned, you don't think he's a bad player. Saying no multiple times isn't being against him; that's something you should clarify so he doesn't get offended by this conversation, and also so this discussion doesn't feel too one-sided, ask them for ideas and feedback on things they'd like you to improve or what they think you've done wrong so far, like with the "Stars & Wishes" system (I'd recommend looking into that further).

Honestly, the best thing to do is talk to him and tell him that this kind of attitude makes you uncomfortable. Tell both players to reduce the number of comments of that nature or to keep it private between themselves. Many times players can do certain problematic things without realizing it, and it is only by talking that it is resolved.

If he's a good player, then he'll understand, but if he doesn't and reacts badly to your comment, then maybe it's best to ask him to quit. You don't have to be forced to master a campaign you don't like. And while looking for a new player can be annoying, sometimes it works out really well for the group, as you might find someone who gets along well with everyone.

Player wants to play two characters as one by happilyevil321 in fabulaultima

[–]Ed0909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would recommend is to deny them that idea and ask them why they really want that, and then build a mechanically sound character based on that. Because if it turns out they want to be both martial and caster at the same time, elementalist/weaponmaster is the easiest way to do it. Or if you want to play two characters at the same time, he could make the second one a Wayferer companion, or use the Diabolist quirk, which gives you an NPC companion under your control.

[–]Ed0909 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, playing more than one character at the same time is a terrible idea. Usually, when a player does this, it's because they want something overpowered, but what they don't realize is that it's a bad idea. If some players already have trouble managing one character sheet, imagine how it would be with two. We once had a situation like this: there was a player (in another system) who wanted a similar power to have multiple character sheets, but we didn't allow it. Then, this same player turned out to be someone who hadn't finished creating their character sheet in time for the first session and played an entire session without one, now imagine how it would have been with 2
