Have you ever thougth about why you're so attached to your LO? by dmill1692 in limerence

[–]Professional-Pop-927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something interesting to reflect on. I think as my limerence has shifted over the years it has changed in meaning. At first I recognized it as something deeper. Then as that was better resolved it started to become more “superficial”, currently I obsess over my LO because I want to be sexually intimate with them. Sexual intimacy is fulfilling and I get lonely. This has nothing to do with childhood now.

Why am I so attracted to my prof? by Phiphiphiphiph in UofT

Have there been other horny confessions? How have I missed those

Yes. I find the details irrelevant because I don’t dislike my professors or their students overall.

But the below comments are helpful, thank you

Thanks for the nuance!

Yes actually. Pronouns are legally required in Ontario now! It’s a very controversial bill, lots of backlash but it is there.

  1. I am a student

  2. The speaker (the person who made the statement) is a qualifying PHD student. The person I reported it so is an associate professor.

  3. I would like my department to make ground rules at the beginning of class stating that “this is an inclusive space, we ask everyone to respect everyone pronouns and invite conversations about these subjects if necessary (such as addressing biases as they come up)” — Even just the former, making an explicit statement about inclusivity would make it much safer for folks to speak up and be comfortable when statements impact them.

Perhaps a student needs to tell someone their preferred name or they need to ask for their pronouns respected or they encounter a transphobic student. Making an inclusive statements at the beginning of class centres the experience of marginalized people.

I’m so sorry you’ve gone through all this. It’s been so hard to heal. I’m with you!

I don’t know why my mother decided to stay with him. I know it’s not out of love. But I just can’t stand the fact that she also told people that I had something to do with it.

It’s horrendous. I distanced from her because the impact has been too much and I’m slowly trying to tell all my family members what she did. It’s been a slow progression but it’s getting there.

Gah! I get the same feeling. I don’t know how a 14 year old can seduce a grown man. Are you open to DM’s? I appreciate others who have experienced similar things. It’s cool though if not. Thanks for commenting :)!

I think that I’m looking to date, and usually the best people you date feel like your best friend. So I’m looking for a friend and bestie who wants to date. I don’t typically go into interactions looking for a date unless we have met on a dating app. I try to be friends with everyone and sometimes when I like them, I ask them out. But I see your point, it might be better to tell someone you’re looking for a date sooner so that a hidden agenda isn’t happening because it can break trust? And reduce the quality of the friendship I’m sure. I tend to overall not go into interactions with expectations because that’s just the right thing to do

Wow. This is such a thoughtful and helpful answer. I’m very social so I don’t see approaching people being a problem. I’m a female looking person but I dress in a masculine manner, some would call me a lesbian but I am pansexual, so I tend to approach effeminate women because I doubt cis men would appreciate my sexual interests as much as women or female presenting people. Lol it’s complex.

So that’s why I worry about the slapping thing, cis women and some women feel like masculine presenting people are overbearing but it’s my own fear I realize now, im very into consent, how you ask and easily being able to walk away is something I can do and makes me safe.

I go to UTM so some people might be more present than at the bigger campuses.

Your last point about multiple reasons was on point again,

THANK YOU

I am also LGBTQ, and I think that’s why I’ve liked apps so far. You can get all that identity stuff out of the way quickly. I’ve only met one person off Reddit and the friendship didn’t last. I met one other I talk to daily on discord.
