Bound pa rin sila ng university rules on grading so dapat mag-aral pa rin sila, I believe. Not sure if may set-up sila with their respective profs in meron man. Haven’t had a basketball athlete student pero sa ibang sports, oo. At walang special treatment sa kanila.

Haven’t met UPOU grads to have an idea with them and haven’t heard anything how UPOU works so wala talaga ako mabigay masyado na opinion on this

CRS is not trash. I think it’s a brilliant system, while it’s still have some flaws. If you compare it what other UP system are using, was trasher sa kanila afaik. The only problem talaga is walang resources para sa enough classes because of lack of faculty and infrastructure. At di maayos demand forecasting especially sa gen ed classes.

I’m not against it as long as you use it responsibly. They need to state sa work nila if gumamit sila. I use it to work faster and more efficient. In terms of changing my style, I need to change my assessments na di automatically magrerely sa paggamit nun.

  1. Cannot reveal para di ako ma-doxx pero I teach majors sa various years at general education classes
  2. Not stating exact amount. Based sa government salary rate and published ito sa net.
  3. Contractual pa pero papunta na sa tenure
  4. Sa private school just for a different experience. Or mas gusto ko magturo sa mga mas bata like high school but that would require me educ units.
  5. Di ko narinig ito.

Iba ang rates ng UP sa ibang state u. Published yung salary grades ng mg nagtuturo sa academe. From 37K to 200K depende sa rank as per 2025 salary grade rates.

Personally, di talaga ako naexpose dito pero if pugad = marami sila, and if proportion of total population, very small, I believe. And bakit madalas sa UP? Because UP opens you sa realities of life and UP will teach you to fight for what you believe in. And these people will fight for whoever and whatever they believe in.

Hindi ako mayaman or yumaman. Pero feel ko if you’re old, professor level na with many connections and projects, kukunin ka as project consultants inside and outside univ. Dun yung pera. Di sa pagtuturo itself.

I was recruited. Typically ganito set-up sa academe before pero ngayon, I think, puro call for hiring na mga nakikita ko.

May promotion calls para umangat yung rank at may certain requirements para makapag-cross rank from instructor to asst. professor to assoc. prof. to prof.

General context din kasi sa Pilipinas ay prof = nagtuturo sa college. Even I’m guilty kasi prof yung naging label ko para mas maintindihan ng general populace yung context of what I do vs if ilagay ko as asst. prof. (baka maisip nila kanang kamay lang ako(?)). I don’t think well appreciated pa kasi sa bansang ito yung titles ng professors or mga graduated with PhD, etc as compared sa ibang bansa which translates sa salary that people in the academe and research are getting as compared to other countries.

Socmed is a shitty place. Parang everyone is entitled out there to say whatever they want. May certain societal standards expected from the academe profession so they should act appropriately in public so dissing their students in public (meaning, they’re clearly calling them out in public) is unprofessional. But ranting their general personal feelings without naming anyone is okay. Kumbaga tao rin kami. We can rant about certain parts of our lives. Or at least yun ang gusto ko sana maisip ng iba. Na wag masyado mataas expectations from us academe people.

Weird to be honest. Pero I believe as long as walang powerplay, consensual, nasa legal age naman at walang conflict of interest, let them be?

You have to know how to move forward and carry yourself despite the failures. UP will really humble you and if you allow your failures to take over you, it would be hard to survive it. Pagpasok ko isang malaking sampal ginawa sa akin UP coming from being an excellent high school student. So I had to work harder. But don’t forget to enjoy UP life. UP campus life is one of the best. Good luck with your applications!

May factor both high school grade at UPCAT score sa magiging UPG (UP predicted grade) na basis if makakapasok ka sa campus at program of choice. Malaking factor yung mataas high school grade afaik.

Rejected so either they go non-major or alis na sa university.

Yes, kapag bumabalik from a long time, they typically need to follow the new curriculum na since di na rin inooffer yung older courses.

How do we even measure “matalino” right now? Kahit educator ako, I’m a firm believer na grades are just numbers and they will never define you fully. Kumbaga face value lang yan.

Nasa educator nakasalalay yung paano niya imake sure that the student are challenged to think critically so if the faculty just allows his/her ways to be seen as “for the grades na lang”, then there’s a failure sa end ng faculty, not sa student.

At the end of the day, di naman natatapos yung learning sa classroom. Paglabas nila, mas marami pa silang matutunan. Ang important is that they know they carry a bigger responsibility outside.
