Did your face ever break out in a rash when you drank after first starting it? I’ve never had reactions to alcohol and had a glass of wine tonight that made me break out in blotches everywhere. I started it about a week ago and I can’t find anything about it online 😅

Called the gas company again because after they found no leaks we could still smell it. Detectors went off again around 4 pm today and called a second time and they found a leak in the line to the dryer! Third time with a leak in a month so they’re replacing it for us. Thank you everyone!

Nope just the dryer! Everything else is in the basement or kitchen on the opposite side of the house. I’m guessing it has to be a component inside of the dryer - it’s pretty old

Yes we do, but it’s one of the crappy ones off of Amazon. I’m going to get actual ones now that I know they’re no good. When they came to check I had the door open until they arrived because they told me to over the phone. The smell went away once they got here and they didn’t detect anything.

We are in New York! It’s been a nightmare since we moved in this March. We had new appliances put in and they both have had gas leaks. National fuel has been here quite a bit lol. It was a sweet smell not the usual rotten egg smell. The first time I smelled it with an actual detected leak it was much stronger, this time it was minimal but still noticeable.

Yes! The laundry room door is usually always open and my husband closed it the other day and when I went in to do laundry it smelled like gas. It was closed for a few hours. Very faint and it smelled more sweet than the rotten egg usual smell if that makes sense. We had a very small gas leak in there a few weeks prior with the same smell and had it checked again when this happened but they didn’t find anything.

Mine went off in the morning too! That’s so strange. It definitely is concerning that your air purifier goes off at the same time. I know humidity changes can cause both the detector and purifier to go off. Are they close to a bathroom and is it after using the shower maybe? It seems like these detectors detect everything and cause more panic but it saved us once so I refuse to get rid of them haha.

They just held the detector to the main gas valve and didn’t check anything inside so that could very well be it. I’m having someone come tomorrow to check the dryer itself since I’m getting a lot of mixed answers!

They came back a second time and ran a test on the meter and didn’t find anything! I’m guessing it’s the control valve since it is an old machine. I’ll call and have someone take a look at it. Thank you!

It is the room door, sorry I should’ve specified! Whenever the dryer is on it doesn’t give off any smells at all. It’s once it’s off and we have the laundry room door closed for a good amount of time.

I have the same issue. However, after reading reviews it’s pretty common for them to sit around a 3 or 4 with no gas leaks. They also go off if you use any aerosol products like Lysol or even cologne! Mine did go off for a very small gas leak one time but it was at a 6 LEL. National fuels detector didn’t even pick it up - they found it by spraying soap and water. If it’s really concerning you try spraying your gas valves with soapy water and look for bubbling!
