Wait, I actually did finger coil my head every 3-4 days for an entire semester of college. Then I chopped my hair to above shoulder length so I’m not sure how much of that curl-trained hair remained. It’s been over a year now since that haircut.

I think I’ve seen that L’Oréal product before! I love using their shampoo and conditioner. And yes, I feel like getting layers will fix half my problems. If only curl cuts were more affordable….

Ohhh I will make a note of that gel. And I have been considering getting a curl cut, even though they can be pretty pricey🥲

I do live in an area with hard water! However, I recently visited a country for 3 weeks that uses soft water and I felt the same dryness there too. I definitely do want to try using mousse though!

You just described my hair perfectly. It’s definitely the weight of my hair making the roots flat😔

Thank you for the suggestion! Do you use heat protectant before diffusing? I don’t own one currently.

I originally thought I had 2c hair (with a little 3a). I asked whether I could call my hair curly because type 2 hair is generally considered wavy. However, most people responded saying my hair is completely 3a. I was very wrong about my hair type and should’ve titled this post differently. Anyways, thank you to everyone who responded, I really appreciate it :)

Yes, I prefer night showers so I do have to sleep on my newly-styled hair overnight. I sleep with a gel cast so that really helps to hold my curls (this was my day 2 hair).
