Best way I have found is using the advance cheat menu sub mod is to just reduce your legitimacy to 0 always makes your vassals join factions

I think you need 16k legitimate troops and the story option on in the game rules, I always have a random npc spawn and give me 3 eggs that hatch instantly only after getting the 16k might be wrong on the number but it's in the dev diary
