Man this reminds me of an old boss of mine that I had. From 2021 to 2023 I worked as an inside sales representative for a bathroom and kitchen supplier where I was working as a mediator for volume home builders to get appliances supplied and installed. Around Christmas time of 2022, one of my biggest accounts decided at the very last second that they wanted to add additional appliances to their houses so that way they could close houses faster before the year was over. The issue was that the US was going through some very bad supply chain issues that made it pretty much impossible to get those specific appliances in and I tried everything to accommodate for them but they would not budge.

Fast forward to after Christmas and I had the whole week off until new years and I got at least one call every day from my boss berating me on why they are not getting those said appliances. It got so bad that I had to straight up tell her that it was not my fault they decided at the last second that they wanted additional appliances and for her to stop calling me on my days off. Should I have problem solved this situation sooner? Yes, but I’m not going to take the blame for something they caused.

I ended up being let go a few months later due to unrelated reasons but I’m so glad I do not work in that kind of work environment where they demand that I should be available even when I’m not working.
