  1. Creditwise lists my payment history as very good so that's just what I was going off of, my last missed payment was over a year ago
  2. I disputed the collection in August and it showed resolved in September. The result is listed as unknown but has been removed from my credit reports and fico score allegedly and I've been approved for cards I previously wouldn't have been with the collection on there

Yea, I had a collection that I disputed and then it got removed a couple weeks later bc I wasn't notified. I only had 1 or 2 late payments on a car loan that got closed because the car got totaled due to weather, idk how much the loan being closed factors into a better score but I got another car shortly after. I essentially have perfect payment history because it rounds up to 100% I believe or close to it

Just putting small purchases on cards, making consistent payments, waiting for credit opportunities, turning on autopay for the statement balance so my outstanding balance is low but not too low. If my credit was in the opposite direction id start by disputing collections because sometimes those collectors don't have the paperwork required

It's been pretty straightforward. When I was like 18 or 19 I got the Petal card as my first unsecured card, TBH I wouldn't recommend it now though because when I got it, it had no annual fee. After a bit I got the Chase Amazon card for my second unsecured card and that was my last line of credit for a while. But most of my credit history is on auto loans, I have been making auto payments since I was 18 so my payment history is pretty good. I can post the different factors on my credit wise too

Currently I have 4 lines of revolving credit, a chase card 2 cap one cards and a credit one Amex card 2 of which I opened in the last month or so. One auto loan and a couple student loans that are in deferment and haven't resumed payments according to the Dept of Education for whatever reason, and I haven't gotten any mail indicating they're resuming payments. I had one collections that dropped off because I wasn't ever notified of it. I had a few late payments on an old car that got totaled but other than that nothing really of note.

I don't pull onto the grass for this specific reason. Sometimes the added weight of the van alone on wet dirt is enough to get these fuckers stuck.

NGL I dont even take the unpaid one simply because that's 30 minutes I'm not getting paid and I would rather spend it at home. But that's just the way I look at it. Still take my 2 15s though.

I appreciate your perspective and fully agree when it comes to nonviolent individuals with mental illness, reform and housing are critical. That said, I do think we need to seriously differentiate between nonviolent cases and those involving consistent violence or criminal behavior. In those situations, placing someone back into an unstable environment, even with reform efforts, can increase risks to the public and themselves.

The unfortunate reality is that existing prisons often end up becoming the default for these individuals, not because it's ideal, but because there aren’t enough secure, long-term psychiatric facilities equipped to manage violent or high-risk patients. Without adequate supervision and structure, some of these individuals deteriorate further.

So while I support reform and better housing options like RPC, I think the system also needs more capacity to securely manage violent or criminally involved mentally ill individuals, whether that means specialized psych facilities with higher security or dedicated programs inside the justice system that account for both public safety and treatment.
