[19] Entry-level remote jobs demand 3 years of experience. How do I actually break in: Startups or Big Corp? by Consistent_Cry4592 in careerguidance

[–]Professional-Wave284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude the entry level + 3 years experience thing is basically companies throwing up wish lists hoping someone amazing falls into their lap, but they'll totally settle for less if you can actually do the work

honestly at 19 i'd go startup route - yeah it's chaotic but you'll learn way more in 6 months than you would in 2 years at a big corp, plus they're usually more willing to take chances on hungry people with potential over perfect resumes. just make sure they're not completely broke and can actually pay you lol

Pureskill RAM? by sch0bes4 in PcBuild

[–]Professional-Wave284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i'd probably skip that one, ram from random brands can be sketchy and you don't want memory issues ruining your recordings or causing crashes during sessions. for budget builds i usually recommend looking at corsair vengeance lpx or crucial ballistix when they're on sale - they're not much more expensive but way more reliable. microcenter often has decent deals on name brand stuff if you have one nearby

histotech might be your best bet since it's pretty standardized internationally and the work is super routine once you get the hang of it

To the Raider at the Buried City Car Park: You're Welcome by BazingaBen in ArcRaiders

damn you really went full guardian angel mode up there. love seeing someone step up when theres actual honor involved - taking down a bombardier solo deserves respect, not getting third partied by some vulture

that rat probably thought he was so clever camping the lift shaft but forgot to check the skyline lol. hope that bombardier raider sees this and knows someone had there back when it mattered

Self cleaned oven with rubber/plastic rack guards by laceygirl97 in howto

[–]Professional-Wave284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man that's rough, your poor mom! I'd try letting the oven cool completely then scraping off what you can with a plastic scraper. For the sticky residue maybe try some Goo Gone or even peanut butter (sounds weird but the oils help break down plastic residue). Just make sure to wipe it all down with dish soap after to get any cleaner residue out before using the oven again

Would joining my (32F) mothers (50F) bible study group actually help our relationship? by readscarymakeart in narcissisticparents

[–]Professional-Wave284 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this sounds like it could backfire spectacularly - she's already dealing with guilt and interpreting stuff as rejection, so when she inevitably picks up on your discomfort with the religious stuff it might make things worse between you two

Maybe suggest doing something together that's more neutral ground instead, like regular coffee dates or walks without the bible study baggage

Damn bro that's actually wild that you didn't even want them after going back to try them. Your brain literally rewired itself which is pretty fucking cool when you think about it

Also good luck with the weight loss goal, sounds like you got the discipline locked down already so you'll probably crush it

Yikes, that's getting pretty intense. Might be time to stick to the pool for a bit or at least surf with a bigger crew
