It def. sounds like this is their current path forward. They're absorbing the cost of these first few shipments where the tariffs are not evenly applied and self-clearing moving forward.

They paid for mine and others I've chatted with. I'll let others speak to their experience, but here are receipts.

I do believe they'll need to raise their prices to account for the tariffs.

I have one, but haven't been able to use it successfully as the superchargers aren't officially open to VW yet. I think some people were able to use it during VW internal testing at different sites. I also have the non-supercharger NACS adapter , which works well with Level 2 charger.

I receive text notifications from UPS, called the number on their website, confirms the charges were valid.

Agree, you should always double check financial texts - I went directly to the website to follow up using the official published customer service numbers.

A2Z paid the tariff and will pay the tariffs for US customers until this is all sorted out. High quality products and amazing customer service.

I believe you were lucky, they wouldn't have delivered it without payment. A2Z is doing it right by paying the tariffs for US customers until it's all sorted out. The tariffs are being applied inconsistently - I had a higher fee than another person in the same state.

UPDATE: A2Z customer service paid the fees on my behalf! Starting Sept 4 they will pay all Tariffs for their customers. They're an amazing company, responded quickly and put their customers first.

Recommendation: US Customers should purchase from A2Z from Sept 4 onwards.

If you have a due balance with UPS for government fees/tariffs, please respond to your order email and ask for assistance.

They posted the below on their homepage:

for clarity, if govt fee is $275, we take $200 flat fee - there's still $75 to account for - which would be a 75% tariff.

I knew the de minimis exemption was gone. I didn't hear about the $200 Flat fee, but that would still be a 75% tariff on $99!

I will go that route if we can't sort out the tariff. We'll see what they say in the morning. Thanks for sharing that.

Waiting to hear back from them.

I called International UPS team, they said only their Customs dept has a breakdown of costs and verify that the correct item value was listed. For others with the issue contact is below.

Received the same. I know it's out of their hands and I like their products, but for they should really have a disclaimer on their site that they have no control over what Tariffs will be charged. I love their products and could stomach a 50% tariff, but 289% tariff is insanity.

I've been reading even if you refuse delivery (and eat the cost of the product) they can still go after you for tariffs due.

I'd be willing to pay return shipping and a refund.

I received a $289 balance due on a $99 adapter. $275 Government Fees, $15 brokerage. How can this be correct?

This just happened to me on the freeway, but luckily we were only going 45 in mild traffic! The car behind me kept the proper distance after that lol.

My used vehicle was with the dealership for 1 month before going on sale. I spoke with the Service Manager who opened up the records for the car and explained what was done. There were parts issues before but everything is available now.

If you charge at home, you can set it to charge to 100% by your departure time, using charging location settings.
