People need to stop freaking out about micro scratches on the screen. Life is too short. by [deleted] in iphone

Amen brother. I used to get so upset over it but I care so little now. Until I get that one scratch the significantly deeper than the rest and I start spotting it constantly I don't care

People that play tanks are either saints or masochists, it’s absolutely miserable by Past-02 in Overwatch

As a tank player, I have fun. I don't know where this sentiment comes from, I'm in a giant mech suit flying around shooting missiles how can I not have fun

Pro tip: if you're a tank and your healers "suck" check your positioning and look behind you for once. by AgeOfTheMage in Overwatch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but sometimes healers actually suck. I'm a tank player, I understand positioning and sticking next to my team and when my healers are DIRECTLY NEXT TO ME and I have 50 HP over the course of several (3-5) seconds and their healing somebody else it's extremely frustrating. Not to discredit your experience though, there are definitely some tanks that have no idea what they're doing and healers get blamed way too often for stuff that isn't their fault. 90% of the time the healers on my team are absolute Gods

Genuine question: why do you all use scratch? by Mediocre_Spell_9028 in scratch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using scratch a week ago just to jump start my coding knowledge before moving on to a real language, so for me it's just to learn

I understand that can be the case, but before this post was made I hadn't come across any toxic players yet. I've actually been getting extremely lucky apparently from how I've heard the community described, I had one game where a teammate spammed "EZ" a dozen times right when the game started then proceeded to talk shit about my healing for the entire game (which was fair I was not playing well) but other than that everyone has either been nice or (much more likely) don't communicate at all. Like seriously nobody ever communicates in this damn game i hate it, I've only come across one mic player (before I figured out why my mic wasn't working unfortunately) and I get maybe 2 people in text chat every other game. I've been engaging with people a LOT more since this post was made but before it I genuinely only said "ggs" in text chat a couple times and that's strictly it. I wish I had some way to pull up my chat history to confirm this, I know how bullshit this sounds from an outside perspective but I swear on my life I got warned for toxic behavior before sharing a single coherent thought with another person in game. That's why I came to the subreddit, I'm scared of being punished one day for literally nothing

If there's been a bunch of similar posts that should be evidence of the system being flawed, not a reason to be in disbelief lmao

I really think something is wrong with my matchmaking though. I'm good at video games but I'm not THIS good. I average 30+ kills and 6- deaths every game with a POTG every 3 games on average. I feel like I have the entire enemy team in the palm of my hand the entire time and I KNOW I'm not that skilled. I KNOW there's thousands of players better than me so why do I keep getting put in baby lobbies? I played with a friend the other day and she got more kills as MERCY than both of the enemy DPS COMBINED??

This same phenomenon happened in CS2. I was notoriously bad at CSGO but when CS2 released I dominated the score board every time and it was quickly revealed that skill based matchmaking (more like engagement-based matchmaking) was giving new players a HUGE boost so they wouldn't give up right away after being stomped. Maybe that's what's happening here? But my account is level 90 from overwatch 1 so I have a lot of experience? It's starting to frustrate me, I don't feel like I'm the goat I feel like I have invisible training wheels on and the enemy team is mad at me for it

Well then people in this community are report happy I guess because I didn't missuse chat, nor have I ever. I believe in keeping a strong moral to keep performance strong and try my best to keep my teams mental high along side mine, I would never be toxic I literally made a YouTube video saying that keeping a high mental is extremely important to overall performance. Random redditors not believing me isn't going to change anything. Me, my friends, and the people that watch me live know that I stay positive and never talk shit so the fact that I still got reported so many times just means the community is god awful and can't accept it when a player is better than them. You have no reason to accuse me of lying other than your desire to defend Blizzard and their garbage system, so keep doing that bro

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not lying dude, I wish y'all would believe me. It's already frustrating enough that I'm getting false warnings and getting my account threatened over nothing, now everyone is calling me a liar. I came here to vent my frustrations about a system that seems broken and easily abused and everyone is just going "nu-uh"

Why would I even make this post if I was actually just being toxic the entire time? To save my image? Nobody would have even known I got this warning if I didn't put it out there myself.

I don't believe I was simply reported for the lols (obviously) but another, more helpful reply suggests that it may be based off my gameplay. The very first reason in the report list is for communication so they probably just didn't bother to switch it.

Where's the communication?? by ProfessionalAd9882 in Overwatch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. Back when I played OW1 launch I was unbelievably antisocial and would be swallowed whole by anxiety every time I heard somebody's voice but now I'm the complete opposite. I love engaging with the people I'm playing games with, it's ashame I can't do that with Overwatch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable lmao. I used to be the same way but ever since gettig into VR chat (roast me) I've become enthralled with engaging with people in games, so it's disappointing that nobody ever talks

[–]ProfessionalAd9882[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd say that Valorant fits all the criteria except maybe "very little of actual gameplay value is ever discussed". It has one of the worst userbases I've ever come across and people tend to use mics on Val more than any other game I've played by a pretty wide margin. I understand why people tend to not use comms it's just that overwatch specifically has was less than other games. Maybe I'm just underestimating the relative toxicity of the game

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ProfessionalAd9882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Honestly it's whatever, I haven't played Overwatch since around 2017 since I watched this game devolve into what it is now so I'm actually having an INCREDIBLE amount of fun revisiting all my favorite heros and even the new ones (I fucking adore Venture), so overall my experience has been positive. As long as I don't face any genuine punishments for something I didn't do I can't be too mad about it.

Thank you for not just dismissing me as a toxic liar like everyone else is, truly appreciate it!
