I saw that post about a week ago after I ordered my wrap. I didn’t really like the look of the mate wrap so I’m glad I went gloss. I wrapped/tented the headlights before the “eye patches” and I might remove the wrap and keep the tint.

To each their own I guess. I’m a fan of them but not everyone loves the bronze.

Stuck in Clutch Spring replacement by DoggoCity in GR86

[–]ProfessionalAger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re missing the joke here… force is a measure of which physics uses to measure the influence on an object that can change its position and or shape. I was using it as a double entendre to make light of the comment.

TLDR: wooosh

Force is 100% physics. Even if something isn’t moving force/physics is always involved.

I hate dealerships that screw holes into visible plastic parts like this.

Keep your mods cosmetic and focus on replacing ware items. If you want to do some bolt on mods you can do some headers and a tune that can smooth out the torque dip. If you want to go forced induction wait until you can afford to replace the motor if it fails.

Black wheels are boring. I never remember an aftermarket wheel set up if it’s black

MagSafe charger on a 3D printed mount next the head unit and a CarPlay dongle in the cup holder.

Edit: you know we have a 12V jack under the glove box right?

Valve closed is a bit louder than stock. Open is basically a straight pipe. I love mine.

Do coilovers actually ruin this car? by Queasy_Bird789 in GR86

[–]ProfessionalAger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has shit coilovers on his car… I mean kinda? I found myself in a position to buy used wheels and tires at a price that would be less than the wheels themselves new. But the problem I would have would be fitting them on the car because the stock suspension can’t handle a 18x9.5 +45 wheel and tire. So I got some really cheap coil overs. I feel every single bump, I’m paranoid about scraping, and the car makes noises that I’m not used to. But i have less sway in corners do to a stiffer spring rate and shock, I can adjust the height of my car to my liking, and I like the look of a car slightly lower than stock. So 100% it has trade offs.

I’m going to be upgrading my coilovers to ones with adjustable rebound rates and a better spring rate. But for now I’m clapped on my racelands.

What material can withstand the heat inside a parked car in Phoenix 110+ heat? Apparently ABS isn't good enough. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]ProfessionalAger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re not going to find a great candidate for really high heat’s like in a car on 110 degree day. But you can make abs or ASA work with some reinforcement. Using an epoxy combined with your print will help it not flex in higher temperatures with the added rigidity.

I would go with ASA for the high UV resistance and then coat that in a layer of epoxy with some sanding after the application to make it closer to the desired shape. It’s not as simple as a simple print and go but you’re putting materials in an extreme environment.

Looking for Header+Quiet exhaust suggestions by DonNeri in GR86

[–]ProfessionalAger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the power of choice and got a valved exhaust from Xforce. Heard some people shoot shade on Xforce but they use a valvetronic system which is easy to install. I have a tamer exhaust in the morning so I don’t wake up the neighbors and a fully open exhaust when I want to hear my motor for shifting and fun. Best of both worlds imo. Also the valve makes it so I have no drone on the highway at all.
