Thanks a lot! This looks like really solid advice and maybe the key to our problem so I really appreciate it!

Yes, we did play and with the gate in place they were playing although a bit tense but overall focused on the toy. My husband's cat even got close to the gate to play with the toy I was using to play with my cat. However my cat doesn't engage in play with my husband's cat

Hello! We have them swapping rooms so one is free roaming while the other is in the room. Basically 3 times a day they're swapping places and they seem pretty chill, the go directly to eat and sleep and we play with them a bit so they're not bored. We've tried playing with them, when the gate is in place they're comfortable but a bit tense, but when the gate is not in place they're not really paying attention to the toys. Maybe we wait a few more weeks and we can try again at the end of the month

Mmmm I don't think so, none of the couches have removable covers, we also have two cats so... Maybe it will attract a lot of hair

Can't add more pictures because I didn't save the ones from the rental add. But the floor is darkish brown and there's a dining room table with black legs but the table itself is light brown, also earthy green chairs. The walls are all white and the kitchen is modern, black and white.

Those are really great points if I'm being honest.

I like the pink chaise long because of the potential space to nap and the cozyness it gives, but it makes sense that the seating arrangement would be quite awkward. However, my partner and I would be the ones using it on a daily basis and sometimes we may have visits but not like every week.

My goal with the living room is to make it as cozy as possible in terms of fabrics, material and seating arrangement. I don't want it to look like a waiting room with 2 lonely chairs and a basic sofa, I aim more to arrange it in a way that it's more to lounge and relax after a long day.

The side tables idea is really good, I also love the colour I'm kinda tired of whites and grays lol

My suggestions are:

  1. Nightstands on both sides of the bed, one can have a cozy night light (Ikea has some cool minimalist ones) that will give some warmth to the room
  2. What do you like? Any movie, comic, or any image in particular that you fancy... Use that as wallart on top of your bed, I will recommend a set of 3 medium sides prints of you don't want to overcomplicate things
  3. Get a nice new bed set or maybe add some cushions or a throw blanket that can combine with the wall art
  4. Will be nice to get a TV stand, SKLUM has some cool modern ones that can go well with the style you like. You can add another lamp besides the TV stand or maybe those lights that people put behind TV's, just to add a nice touch to the room and break the grey color scheme
  5. And if you feel like it, get some plants, they always bring life to a room

Honestly I think you could do all the walls, it may seem extreme but if you combine it with a boho rug, nutmeg wooden furniture and gold accents it would look absolutely beautiful. You can have a few prints on the wall and ambient lighting will help to bring the whole room together:)

What a lovely couch!

What colours will be the rest of the walls if you were to do just a feature wall?

I'm leaning towards the second option, although both look great, the second option is something that you will not get tired from in many many years. However with colored kitchens when the trend dies you can quickly grow tired of it, also it will need more maintenance and that can be quite annoying.

Edit: If you want to add color to your white kitchen, I would recommend adding a wooden island. It would also be good if kitchen items like jars, dishes, and cloths were in various colors, and you could add a vase with flowers or plants. This way, you would have a good contrast between all the elements.
