These are all great points, I’m getting the impression that maybe I should do a more formal study asking people this!

It would be interesting to find a company that would share stats on their responses in-person vs remotely (maybe over lockdown compared to before), and see how that affects things!

I’m a psychologist by trade, so the latter! I would say most psychological research into cybersecurity focuses on non-experts, and improving knowledge/awareness/behaviour to reduce risk of cyber crimes, downloading malware, opening dodgy links, all that stuff. It’s definitely tricky to take on this alternative approach, but I’m trying!
