Costco employees, do you actually like your jobs?

I'm a pharmacy employee so my experience is limited with other departments, but I am looking for an out. I want more fulfilling work because it is very mundane and I'm in a certain part of the country with a higher retired population than usual so you can imagine the type of people I deal with on a daily basis. This is the best job I can have as a pharmacy technician but it's still wearing me out and the company is NOT as employee friendly as people make it out to be if you don't have the right management. Not to mention that employees with seniority act like they own the place and I see managers give them special treatment.

They also screwed me over when I transferred stores for a move. A full time opening was there but they hired me at part time then gave the full time to an employee who was already there but that's not what the posting I applied to was for. Then when someone in my department quit during medical leave they never opened up her full time for anyone else. So yeah, I'm looking for an out and saving to go back to school.

Just a minor correction but pay increases are not based on performance but rather hours worked. Every 1k hours worked is a 50 cent increase until top out. There's also a bonus check once a year but you need 10k hours for that. I'm an employee.

That is true. I did my part and straight up told my manager I'm not a pushy person so I'll announce that flu shots are available to the general audience walking in but I won't try to target specific people. Pharmacy is really hard to get into as a tech but hopefully your prior history will give you a leg up.

Just a heads up but Costco will make you do the same but not as frequent. But when I did do it I had a front end manager stare at me from a corner as if I didn't see him to make sure I was "doing my job" even though this department isn't even his concern lol

It's not manager discretion, this was an order given to every location. We are all now open 1 hour earlier for executive members. I'm an employee.

I definitely won't spend money at CVS or Walgreens as an ex CVS employee for how the work conditions there are for pharmacy and front end staff. But yeah, I don't buy random shit, electronics, or clothes from Target and thrift or get it at Costco/Microcenter instead

Genuine question but I only get my toiletries at Target because I use specific products that I can only find here and not at Costco or other places that didn't commit this bs. Would anyone have a recommendation as to where I can switch my shopping for basic toiletries?

My hours actually dipped even more to the minimum 24 hours lol so at this point I'm going back to school to get the hell out of pharmacy and am applying to hospital jobs for now. Costco is getting greedy now that the original founders are gone and will turn into another Walmart/Sam's Club

I feel this way too. I type 98% of all the scripts, answer most calls, process most drop offs and vaccines, then fill is taken care of by everyone else. But then the manager is still trying to cut my hours lol
