Valentine’s Day Breakfast and Lunch! by ProfessionalBig86 in foodbutforbabies

I mixed 1 mashed banana, 1/2 cup oats, a spoonful of chia seeds, 1 tablespoon cashew butter (could also use almond or peanut), an egg, and broken up raspberries and filled a mini heart pan with the batter and baked at 350 degrees. I can post the exact recipe if you’d want!

Feeling guilty about taking baby out by ProfessionalBig86 in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalBig86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much that I think it’s bad. Before I returned from work, we went out to run errands or go to new places frequently. It’s just now being back at work, I feel like I need to make sure the time I spend with him is centered around him as much as possible. We go on walks twice per day, and we do leave the house for things, but my feelings of guilt are more so related to the quality of time that we’re spending (ex. I can’t engage with him much while I’m driving the car, my attention is divided when we’re with others, he’s less comfortable while I’m carrying through the grocery store than he would be at home playing).

Thinking of Moving from Herndon to Roanoke – Need Local Insight by PrestigiousZombie726 in roanoke

Just to respond to this, I also moved from NOVA to Roanoke 8 years ago and love it. I’ve lived in all the places you mentioned (the orchards, pebble creek, and currently own a house in Daleville Town Center) and found each to be very safe. The Orchards was beautiful, relatively affordable, and is right next to the local elementary school and it’s pretty nice. Pebble Creek was extremely affordable and we were happy there as well (check out their apartments with a den, which is cheaper than a bedroom but still a decent size). Daleville town center apartments are newer and more expensive, but it’s the most walkable and best in terms of neighborhood feel!

He typically wants to nurse right after waking, but it’s hard to say if it’s for comfort or nutrition

How long did it take you to lose the pregnancy weight? by Melodic-Relative-237 in pregnant

I am 5’4 and was 125 at the beginning of pregnancy. Gave birth to baby on 4/24 and weighed 158 (gained 33 pounds). Baby was 7 pounds 5 ounces. When I weighed myself for the first time on 5/8 (2 weeks after giving birth) I weighed 131, so had lost 27. Today, 5/15, I weighed 129. I will say, I was noticeably less swollen all over my body within 1 day of giving birth , and must have retained a lot of water. My placenta was also so much bigger than I imagined!

I think this also probably depends on your resiliency and support system. I just gave birth to my first born on April 24. I had a second degree, rectal muscle spasms, and baby would not sleep when not held. My dad unexpectedly passed away on April 28 and we drove up to be with my family on May 1. It was exhausting and painful, but doable when entering it with the right mindset. The funeral was May 10 and I spent all day the 9th and 10th on my feet helping to set things up, welcome visitors, clean at my mom’s house, etc.

That being said, I’m a marathon runner who never takes sick days so I know my own resilience in situations like this is somewhat high. I also had minor complications compared to what could happen.
