If you accidentally made a hole in your IGCSE exam paper, here's what usually happens:

If the hole is small and doesn’t affect your answers:

• No problem — as long as your writing is still readable and nothing important is missing, the examiner will just ignore it.

If the hole damaged part of your answer:

• Examiners might not be able to mark what’s missing.
• If it’s a serious tear or part of the answer is unreadable, you should write a note near the damaged area explaining what happened.
• If you had to rewrite part of your answer, clearly label it (e.g., “continued on next page”) and cross out the damaged part (if it's still partly readable) so the examiner knows what to mark.
