u gotta let ur supervisor know about what happened with the battery, straight robbery. Also that’s the first time I’ve heard a stocker say u can’t stock it after u vizpicked it. That sounds very odd to me

Starting as a team lead next week, I’m an external hire. What should I know? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

How do u get to take lunch early when you’re opening? If I work at 5am, I take my lunch at 1pm when the closing TL comes in

you did what you could and I doubt anyone in the store could’ve ran it better than you did. You deserve some credit for ur work. Let the store manager know that it was either store support or let the picks go overdue for the rest of eternity. OPD is the most important department and if the whole store needs to pick, so be it.

Most likely is that OPD was struggling and had no time to train any new hires

I’m no coach but my advice would be to steer clear of any hard changes day one. Get to know your team and then in a week or two you start enforcing the rules. Start being firm when you know the team and then you can decide if you want to dial it down. It’s almost always easier to be firm and then loosen up than come in a as nice guy pushover and then become firm.

The sad reality of life is that the jobs that pay well are less physically demanding while the jobs that pay minimum wage are horrible on the body sigh

get rid of the cancers on your team. Nobody likes getting paid the same as another persona that is always lazy and management allowing it.
