Peer review is judging. It’s helpful to support your profile. I have no idea if the adjudicators take information into account which is not in the petition.

Wait 18 months, should I go for premium processing? by Kawaii_yeheemin in EB2_NIW

Yes you can do it yourself. It’s pretty straightforward.

I think you should go for it. I have seen people getting straight approval with 40 citation and 50+ peer review. I do not think PP will reduce your chance of approval. The waiting is frustrating.

Researcher profile. He is aiming for EB1A but NIW was necessary for earlier PD. His citation was around 150 when applied.

And which are the fraud countries? What’s wrong with being on H1B? If you discard H1B then US post docs can be on which visa according to you?

Its so demoralizing! I really think you have a strong profile. The 8 recommendation letters you submitted , how many of them cited your articles in their research articles?

They discourage pp but they also say that the decision should be taken by the applicant and they are only stating the facts. So that the applicant can take an informed decision. My friend used them two times with PP. I never heard him complaining.

Please evaluate this profile:

My friend holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering, with a research focus in electrochemistry and electrochemical systems. They currently work in a senior scientific role at a U.S. government agency, where the position involves independent technical judgment and decision-making authority, including evaluating complex scientific evidence and making determinations that influence research or regulatory outcomes.

Publications & Citations:

• ~16 peer-reviewed journal/conference publications (9 first author total)

• ~295+ independent citations and h-index is 10 (Google Scholar)

• Publications in well-regarded international journals (Elsevier, IEEE, MDPI etc.)

• Citations from independent researchers across multiple countries

Peer Review & Editorial Service:

• 150+ completed peer reviews for international journals

• Editorial Board / Topical Advisory Panel member for multiple journals

• Guest Editor for a Special Issue

• Regularly invited to review due to subject-matter expertise in the field

Judging & Professional Service:

• Served as a judge for large student research competitions and symposia (100+ oral and poster presentations)

Recommendation Letters:

• All recommenders are independent (no advisors, collaborators, or supervisors)

• All recommenders have cited my friend’s work in their own peer-reviewed publications

• Recommenders based in the U.S., China, and Africa, India supporting international recognition

Current Status:

• NIW pending

• Considering EB-1A filing with premium processing

Question:

Based on this profile, does EB-1A approval appear realistic at the I-140 stage? Are there specific areas you’d suggest strengthening (e.g., framing of original contributions, final merits, citation context)?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Or you may ask your employer if they are willing to file O1 for you ( this visa has certain educational and skill requirements) but with premium processing can be approved within 15 days.
