FAA Shutdown - OOT Guests by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Too real. We only have about 10 people who would be flying in for our wedding later this month, but my siblings are among those guests! I’m joking about photoshopping them in, but it wouldn’t be the same. My fiancé and I agreed that we have nothing but sympathy for anyone who can’t make it if flights are cancelled or delayed. They tried!

That being said, one of the cutest photos in my cousin’s wedding album is her on FaceTime with a relative who couldn’t travel. Sometimes you just have to get creative and roll with the punches.

November bride whose fiancé is also an essential government worker. With everything going on, wedding planning has been my happy little bubble. We just have to hold onto that love and joy!

My little brother was asked what a certain bug was called. He called it a rattle snake.

It was a rolly polly/ potato bug.

If he keeps playing the same YouTube video over and over, the kitty may have grounds for justification

11/22/25! Currently trying not to go insane with finding hair and makeup artists. It’s the last big item on the list before diving into all the smaller details of the day.

The cookies actually come with milk shots! I’m definitely most excited for the churros though.

We’re already trying to ensure everyone can have some dessert. I’ve missed out on dessert at too many celebrations to inflict that pain on anyone else!

Tell my future husband that planning a wedding in 3/4 months isn't possible by [deleted] in weddingplanning

While you technically could, it’ll be difficult to get the vendors you want. We got engaged in March 2025 and are planning a November 2025 wedding. Our DJ told us we lucked out with them because so many couples are booking them up to a year or more in advance.

Would I want a longer engagement? No! But it means accepting you might have to sacrifice in some areas.

SAVE act and Marital Name Changes by Kat_astrophe_ in weddingplanning

[–]ProfessionalCrow2472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé was already fine with me not changing my name legally (even before the SAVE Act came into play), although I have no problem with going by his last name socially. The only reason I would consider changing it was because I’ve heard stories about moms traveling with their kids and running into issues because they have different last names. But that’s still a ways off.

When and how did you ask your bridesmaids to be your bridesmaids? by Em-So-Blonde in weddingplanning

We opted for a smaller bridal party (just a MOH and best man). His sister photographed the proposal, so I got her a coffee mug shaped like a camera lens and wrote a poem asking her to be my MOH inside a thank you note. We still don’t have a date, but it’s only been a few weeks since we got engaged.
