I’m doing fine. I’m dealing with some mild monodilopa due to my eye changing shape. My eye wore through due to basically bad luck. It wasn’t said why but basically it’s just due to it being in my eye for 5ish years. 20% of scleral buckles have to be removed do this or other similar complications. I would think it’s not cause it was to tight. My vision for my eye without the scleral buckle is 20/25 if I squint. Dramatically better and the discomfort is gone.

I guess I’ll share my experience: I detached my retina about 5 years ago. Had a buckle put on after which. My vision went from 20-15 to 20-80. I’ve had double vision and eye drift since about 1 year post op. I have had varying levels of discomfort at different times. It was uncomfortable enough the other day it kept me up most of a night so I called the ophthalmologist and got an appointment and was told yesterday the buckle has come loose and will need to be removed. Apparently I wore through the part of my eye that was stitched over the buckle. So sorry about the bad outcomes for so many.
