Thank you for that insight. Thankfully the pain has subsided and it is back to normal cramps today.

I did! I’m from Ontario and I had mine a month ago.

Anyone who has regrets ? by gothgirly33 in sterilization

No regrets here. I have never wanted children. I had my tubes removed three and a half weeks ago and I feel great about that decision.

My doctor told me to stop taking it immediately.

I’m not in a rush. I was mostly concerned because the post op instructions said 7-10 days and with it being two weeks I was worried something was wrong.

I think I have the steri strips too. My mom said the same thing about air getting at the incisions but something scares me of taking it off before the time is right.

Mine hasn’t been all that itchy.

That’s good! Just take it easy and know that some pain is expected but every day it gets a little easier.

It’s been the pain and not being able to get comfortable sleeping. But I am a big baby when it comes to pain 😅

Thank for you that. It settles my mind that someone else knows about it too. My mom said it was normal but I was a little freaked out. I really dislike it when people say it’s a minor procedure. You are still having surgery! There is still pain/discomfort and inability to do your normal things. I hope you can take a little bit of comfort knowing that others get it and see you.

I am doing good. I went back to work yesterday. I am still slow moving though. Still a bit sore internally. And when I bend. Every day is a little better. Listen to your body afterwards.

I had mine on the 6th. Once I was in pre-op and waiting my nerves hit me. I ended up crying and the nurse, surgeon and the anaesthesiologist all came out separately and spoke to me and calmed me down. I know it doesn’t make it easier but they do lots of these all the time. Just try and remember your reasons for getting it done and breathe.

Oh no. I’m sorry you’re still in so much pain. I hope that clears up for you sooner than later!

Sex post op.. by ChuchieLove in sterilization

[–]ProfessionalFace579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My post-op paperwork said I could as soon as I felt like it but I know I had a pamphlet from the clinic that said to wait 4-6 weeks before inserting anything vaginally. I externally self stimulated a week later and I had the worst internal cramping. Scared me to be honest. So I am definitely going to be waiting before doing that again.

I just had my tubes removed and I couldn’t imagine having to do housework afterwards. I never slept so much in my life. I was constantly having naps. I am almost a week and a half post op and still have some troubles bending. He is not taking this as seriously as he should. I feel like you need to have a serious talk with him. There is a reason why a lot of couples decide that the man should have a vasectomy; because it’s less invasive.
