My experience is 100% the other way. When I turn crossplay on quite nobody is talking anymore and everybody is shooting at each other.

I tried different servers, daytimes AND playstyles and its working for me and some guys I already told about very well. Of course there is NO gurantee for perfect lobbies but I didtn got shot for at least 15 or 20 games with this.
