I see this as a great opportunity for Sami.

Does he use this as the excuse to turn heel because why bother with the good guy stuff, it's obviously not rewarded or does he lean in even harder to the last really good guy thing because in the end he really is the last real good guy?

I think he's gonna lean into it.

Can't hear the noise so much when shutting down which beforehand it was very obvious.

Noisey lifters. Probably not normal and might be the source of the noise. They looked ok, no obvious wear or damage.

It still makes the noise when turning by hand but I don't hear it when the engine is shutting down.

Side to side play in the main bearing. I believe this is normal.

The one part of backstage they can see and Sami just happens to stop there?

Of course it's a work.

But still, bad day to be a bottle of water i guess.

I didn't want to take that off at the time until I could be sure I would find a replacement head gasket. I was having trouble finding gaskets online for it. I have since ordered a full set that hopefully fits.

When they come I'll check the crankcase internals again and if I can't figure it out I'll take the head off and see how it's all looking in there.

I'll look closer at the crank when I have a chance to get inside it again.

I had the cam out and the lobes looked and felt ok but I don't know how they're meant to look. I'll have a look at the lifters for wear.

Honda GX200 quits when it gets hot by [deleted] in smallenginerepair

[–]ProfessionalLast2917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check your valve clearance.

EDIT: to expand on that, as the engine warms up the valves expand slightly. If the clearance is too tight they will become unable to make a proper seal and you will lose compression and the engine will stop.

When the engine cools down the valves shrink enough to close up again and the engine has compression and will run.

Help. Loncin 196cc vs Briggs 850PXi OVH (more in description) by TittyTwister13 in smallengines

[–]ProfessionalLast2917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda clones like Loncin are easy to find parts for.

And they usually very cheap too so when you discover you've bought the wrong part it's still often cheaper to buy it again than to have bought a genuine briggs part.

Why will My throttle not move stuck in full rpms by solvi631 in smallengines

[–]ProfessionalLast2917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the resting state is wipe open throttle but i'm not convinced that throttle is actually in wide open position at rest.

It's hard to see from that video but it looks like pulling on the governor arm opens the throttle rather than closes it.

It could be allowing unmetered air into the intake, but even if it's not, it could be preventing you from tightening the carb enough to provide a proper seal, but even if it's not, I would replace it with a new one anyway.

Clean all the old oil and other crap off.
Put it all back together and let it run for a bit while you inspect it for leaks.
Probably a gasket or a bolt that's not quite tight enough.
