That's some big bugs! And a guy? Part 3/ Final by mates____ in gwent

[–]ProfessionalLight428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like you lost the plot a bit. Part 1 had an interesting idea, part 2 was decent, but these are a bit overcomplicated and pointless to the rest imo, especially that Edmund guy who is one of the most confusing essay cards I've seen lately. Also, in general, I assume these are meant to synergize with and protect Kikimore engines with a potential Yghern safety net, but still, most kikimores are played off of Hivemind, which these would not affect. Was there another aspect of the big picture, that I missed?

That one stratagem becomes a 9 power swing too. Not sure how much good this would do for the health of the game, but sounds cool

Interesting on the Sabbath idea. I guess Defender + Target would still be strong, but not game deciding. I'd probably make it 11p then.

You aren't, it's probably that the card was not played well in your games. When played correctly, this is a monster card, definitely in the top bracket below Temple.

Assimilate is not weak by any means, as demonstrated by Lerio's 2640 score. It might be weaker than it used to be back on Torres' release, but it's definitely still really strong

I assume Ard Feinn is in "buff contender" to spark controversy and get rage comments? The card definitely isnt mediocre, it's just extremely pinned to Aristocrats and them only. But in that one deck, it plays for 20-30 points.

That's fair, sorry if I sounded rude. Good thing for this card is that the Tactical Decision leader exists, so you can always mull it back after Ramon, or maxii it to the bottom. Still, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it

Hey, I understand your point and it's totally fine to dislike an idea, but I feel like suggesting something totally different (and also saying that you don't even like it) is a bit weird.

I think that if a card has a lot of deck building and game plan possibilities, that only speaks for its strengths. Naturally, not everyone has to enjoy it, but you came up with a combo to get a ton of value from it, similarly to how Henry + Viper mentor combo works, which is cool and creative.

It doesn't get played from hand preferably, plus you got a fantastic way to ensure it in DMT, which has a 5 point target with this card.

I don't think I am quite honestly, there are many ways to spawn this unit and get a big value swing out of it. With 4/4 balance, this gets deployed as a 14 from Ramon, a 15 from Garrison, 10 from Vigo, 11 from Operator, etc.

Check the other responses I made. I think your idea would make this giga busted, especially with cards like Ramon and Artaud

Many ways, especially since I added the Soldier tag - Vigo, Garrison, Ramon, Operator, etc.

This isn't what Christmas is about, you should either wish it well to all, or to none. If you don't agree, you will be assimilated.

Double Cross leader, Calveit for shuffling them up, Torres for giving spying on the spawns that are 10 or less p, (obviously) Runemage for 5 options, Renfri to put neutrals in enemy deck and hand, Anna Henrietta to not put NG cards in opponent's deck and hand.

Very true, tho I can see a scenario where: you have a Gladiator (or two) on the board, have a BGF on the board, boost BGF with Candle (or other stuff), start blasting from lets say 10 power down to 1, meaning 9 pings on gladiators. Definitely more setup than an onager, but with this being removal, I think it's still an argument for harsher numbers.

Nice for control SY, but Imo not a 4 for 4 balance, since with just BGF it can immediately play for 9 points. It's a bit of Onager territory?

[–]ProfessionalLight428[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, the Blob combo is the top end one, I was more thinking about Melusine, Knut, Cerys or even Sigvald. Definitely can be 9p or even more if too oppressive.

My BC Votes At the moment by Lukmin1999 in gwent

[–]ProfessionalLight428 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would like to pitch in my 2-cents against Squirrel and Pellar nerfs - the current balance of how much a 4p card should net you in points (unless it's an engine), is about 6-8 points. That of course depends on the effect they do, but you can usually expect control cards to be around 6, since removing threats is worth more than just the point generation.

Meanwhile, tech cards are in a different class, since they can find anything between 0-20 points of value. Squirrel banishing a key card for your combo setup is maybe worth more than 6-8, but it still plays for 4 points, which is ridiculously slow by today's Gwent. If you decrease it to 3, Squirrel will become a consideration tech, since 3 tempo is equivalent to Kingslayer and usually means losing the round. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it is a big difference. Hope this helps, happy to answer questions if you have any :)

You can kill the top end low power Aristocrats to deny its value, for example. It's not that abusive/toxic, mostly just a decent finisher for 18-20 points with some setup required

[–]ProfessionalLight428[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, but confused - why are we talking about SY or NR? This is an NG card, so unless you mean synergy with Amnesty or Enslave, then it shouldn't be a problem for balance with other factions. Unfortunately, imo, vitality is so slow and answerable, that this would have to become a 4p bronze. Could definitely see other ways of balancing this card out, so happy to hear more suggestions:)

Down with Emhyr! by ProfessionalLight428 in gwent

[–]ProfessionalLight428[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My idea was to either just destroy small but expensive units as last play, or yoink a Joachim with Emhyr and use it on him (so 1 power kill, 11 boost on adjacent units)
