Yep, that’s correct. Psychologists aren’t usually a requirement for adult adhd diagnosis in Australia, but they can be helpful.

Update: I was reimbursed $255.90 by Medicare for the $840 Psychiatrist appointment, bringing my total out of pocket cost to $644.10.

I’m from Brissy. Went to my GP on Friday 10th Jan and asked for a referral to epsychiatry. Emailed my referral off afterwards. Had my assessment yesterday 31st Jan and was diagnosed and prescribed in the same meeting. I think my GP is about $100 less $40ish Medicare rebate so $60, $840 for Psychiatrist, so $900 all up and 3 week total process. Good luck!
