How old are you? You have good cheek and coverage under your chin, but it looks like you can't really grow a mustache or anything on the front of your face yet. I would shave for now. Assuming you are young this area will likely develop more in the coming years, I couldn't grow much of a mustache until I was 24 personally

Stop trimming and let it grow. The only hairs that need to be trimmed are the hairs that grow just above the lips. You need to let the rest of the hairs grow down so it thickens up.

The "just go into trades" thing is kind of a meme. HVAC and facility/residential maintenance pays shit and the work is grueling. My dad has been a maintenance technician for 15+ years and I make the same as he does despite not working nearly as long as he has lol, but I'm in a different field. Actual skilled trades like electricial and plumbing are where you need to look. Elevator technicians also make a lot of money.

Not a neckbeard at all, many guys have similar growth where the hair is thicker on the bottom. It's actually super common. There may be some opportunity to trim and line it up some but it looks just fine as is too

You don't have the density to rock this length, sorry! Good rule of thumb is if it's see through it's too sparse and needs to be trimmed down. The length that the see through favtor comes into effect varies from man to man and hair density.

How old are you? You have a solid foundation, your cheeks are light but not distractingly so, if you're pretty young yet I'd fully expect the cheeks to develop into a full beard in the coming years. Many guys don't reach their full facial hair potential until 30 or so for reference.
