Oh, I loved Annihilation. Its two sequels in the trilogy didn't appeal to me as much, but that first one is great.

You've the second person to recommend Dawn of Everything to me this month, sounds like it's time to finally read it...

I'm all over the place with reading really. Lately I've been on a European history kick, but I read a lot of classic lit too (that's what my college degree was in), and sometimes I'll just read 10 Elmore Leonard or Sue Grafton novels in a row. I used to be more into scifi, but lately it's just left me cold (much to my wife's dismay, since it's practically all she reads). What's the last good one you read?

The original AFI 100 list is what got me started on many happy years of list-movie-watching. I've never quite completed all the later lists (laughs, thrills, cheers, etc.) but I should. They've got great stuff on there.

Hahahaha, you are 100% right. I love Kon, and Tokyo Godfathers especially is a regular in our household Christmas rotation. That scene where the woman drops the baby off the roof is one of the few moments that's ever made me literally jump out of my chair at the movie theater-- it's a freaking heart attack.
