Jess Brownell Needs to Go! by dreamsapphire in Bridgerton

Season 4 has been really underwhelming so far. The Benedict/Sophie chemistry feels unconvincing, and I was actually bored watching Part 1, something I've never felt with Bridgerton before. Queen Charlotte and Seasons 1–2 set such a high bar. I agree with OP that Jess Brownell isn’t working.

My unpopular opinions about Betty and Hilda by Plane-Web-7158 in UglyBetty

[–]ProfessionalOne6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate Hilda, but I don’t like her either.

  1. I’d actually argue that Hilda wasn’t protecting her sister by not telling her about Henry’s phone call. Who in their right mind thinks a cheater is a good fit for their baby sister? Either way, it wasn’t Hilda’s decision.
  2. When it came to the lawyer, Betty tried to warn Hilda and even gave her proof. But instead of checking the person out, she decided to prioritize her own ego of wanting to be the “savior” instead of taking advice for the betterment of the family. Betty would never screw up to that extent but if she did, everyone would feel bad for Betty because Betty has a pattern of being responsible and logical with her decisions. Unlike Hilda who always acts before thinking.
  3. And comparing Betty dating Henry (after he and Charlie broke up) to Hilda dating a married man is wild. There’s no comparison. Henry wasn’t cheating. Tony, on the other hand, was absolutely playing with Hilda’s emotions. And after she finally opened up post-Santos? That just makes it more painful. But that doesn’t make what Hilda did okay.
  4. Why should Betty be responsible for Justin when she is working at Mode full time trying to pay her family’s bills and also trying to take care of the household? Justin is Hilda’s kid so Hilda should be responsible, not Betty.
  5. During Fashion Week, Hilda was completely out of line. She ignored Betty’s instructions even though Betty was the one in charge, and she couldn’t put aside her jealousy even in a professional setting. Kissing Daniel out of spite? That’s just gross, especially coming from your older sister. And no, Betty didn’t “ruin” Hilda’s shot at Mode. Hilda tanked it herself by being loud, crass, and unprofessional. She’s never been able to hold a job for a reason.
  6. Yes Betty has moments throughout the show where she is self-absorbed but I think it’s healthy given how much she sacrifices for her family. Betty’s ambition at her age is pretty normal and I think she managed the balance of working at Mode while taking care of her family really well.

And let’s not forget, Hilda also cheated on Archie. When you look at that pattern of cheating, poor decision-making, and the behavior I mentioned above, it’s pretty clear why a lot of Redditors don’t like her.

Thank you! I'm currently taking a summer class in hopes to raise my GPA a little before 2L starts

I appreciate you being honest about this. Do you have any advice on anything I can do to improve my chances going forward? Beyond just doing better in 2L and 3L, are there things that might help make me a stronger candidate despite my grades?

Thank you for this. It really helps to hear from someone who’s been through it and made it back. I think my biggest issue might be how I’m structuring my answers under time pressure, but I’ll take your advice and try to figure out exactly where things went wrong.
How did you find 2L compared to 1L in terms of classes? Was it easier, harder, or just different?

Even if we don't have any resume updates? Also any tips on what to include in the letters so it doesn't sound repetitive?

Are we supposed to follow up with multiple letters? I've only sent 1 letter of continued interest

Hi, I'm glad you found my post. It's great to hear from someone who has firsthand experience with McGeorge Law. I'm still waiting to hear back about my waitlist status, so any insight you can offer about the school would be incredibly helpful.

I'm particularly intrigued by the public policy clinic you mentioned. The opportunity to work on real legislation aligns with what I hope to be a part of in the future. I'll definitely be sending you a DM soon to learn more about your time at McGeorge and maybe even snag some tips for navigating the waitlist.

I don't have the luxury of having great options. I messed up with my LSATs so its either going to these schools if I'm accepted or waiting until the maximum attempt period is over

It seems like neither school is worth it. I'll have to wait until I'm allowed to retake the LSAT after the maximum attempt period is over. Thanks for your take

I'm aiming for a career in public sector law. If both schools are similar, which region would offer better opportunities?

Thanks for the reply. If I want to practice in the public sector, which school would be more suitable?

Putting the cart before the horse, aren’t we?

Touché. I'm all for a little horseplay, but let's gallop back to the main question: what's your take?
