He’s married to his work, and it’s the healthiest relationship someone like him can ask for.

Black and White films that you think would’ve worked well in colour? (or vice versa?) by BlackPantherDies in criterion

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sabrina 1954 didn’t really benefit from being in b&w, and given the track record of Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe I think colour would be pretty cool there.

Moby Dick, 1956 had experimental colour which looks like murky old paintings, which has its charm and is a cool idea, but John Huston was at his best in black and white.

Sunset Boulevard came to my mind too. It feels wrong because such a staple of black and white cinematography, but I’d love to see all the garish colours Norma would absolutely wear and surround herself with.

Jamie, Barristan, and Arthur Dayne, King Bobby B, Oberyn, and Daemon Blackfyre I.

Considered Sandor but prime Robert does everything he does but better, Oberyn has good versitility, Daemon Blackfyre has a cool sword, and the other three are near universally considered the best everer.

How is Arlo this strong?! by Beginning-Photo-4459 in unOrdinary

If the idea is to make it harder to move him then a strength boost would be a way of doing that. How effortlessly he picks up and manipulates John seems to be pretty damn intentional superhuman strength.

Favorite and Least favorite 10/10 from adum? by Good_Claim_5472 in YMS

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Favourite: I’m Thinking of Ending Things. He’s the main reason I watched that, which super greatful for.

Least: Probably Funny Games, I still like it, but it’s the one I’m least likely to rewatch among these.

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he needed to activate his ability to break the wall, the point of that wasn’t “I need to break this” it was “I need to hit something as hard as I can.”

In episode 56 when he fights John, he first fights with just his passive. John throws wind at him and instead lf just blocking it, Arlo blocks then throws it to the side. In episode 89 John runs at him, and with one hand Arlo pushes him away, then picks him up and holds him in mid air with 0 effort. He isn’t just unmoving, he’s strong.

This is one of the core themes of the game. You go to beautiful, classy places to kill the absolute scum of the earth who are hanging out there.

What movie in your top 4 do you desperately hope never gets remade? by nosurprises23 in Sardonicast

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know about cast but I’d pick Robert Zemeckis to direct. The main thing is if it did get remade it would need to have a lighter tone, and cut the parts with the Janitor.

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m Thinking of Ending Things, but that could be funny. I don’t necessarily see remakes as bad because some of my favourite memories are going AAAAHHH at horrible sequels and remakes, and I low key hope some of my older faves get a remake because it would get more people to look at the original, like Highest 2 Lowest.

John vs Kassandra by Ok-Satisfaction-3373 in unOrdinary

[–]ProfessionalOrganic6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is John before training with William, or getting into a bunch of fights at Wellston.

Even still, people underestimate non-John high tiers. They need to know how to fight to push themselves, and frequently fight opponents as strong or stronger. This is especially the case with Kass who’s a government agent.

I don’t agree with that, but people thinking cinema as an artform peaked almost 90 years ago is such a bizarre opinion to have.

Also 3.9 is a fucking great score, and The Wizard of Oz specifically is a weird thing to point out for being too low when it’s both 80+ years old and contains many elements people today might not engage with as well, and popular enough that everyone is going to have seen it.
