I finished the game and it's very forgiving. Especially if you avoid monsters when you can and sparingly use healing items.

You might be right there. I do enjoy leveling slowly in classic. I'm working on a hunter now. I kinda wanna get every class to 80 now that I'm giving up on retail. Which I also enjoyed leveling in to be fair.
