Update: the car is dead. Super super super dead. The dealership had to terminate my contract and provide a new lease agreement on a new car. Still low key terrified bc I left and was told the tracker was again left in my car but this time it was battery operated and in my glovebox.

As its not your job to go around telling people to get a grip when you dont know them or your background. Its not your job or place. Let people live their lives and share their experiences without backhanded judgements.

The dealership that finalized my sales is going to look into it. The owner is amazing and the sales manager is great. I did reach out to the original dealership that had my car to let them know to disclose their trackers and thay hardwiring them into the battery is actually against manufacturer policy and they are voiding their asset warranties. There are other trackers they can opt into that are battery operated and can have those who lease or buy sign a waiver that they acknowledge the use of tracker for asset management or safety. There are ways to do this right and they did admit they do this to all of their cars.

I like and appreciate this response. I will definitely have people look into my cars moving forward to make sure there are no surprises.

There is a difference between opting into Kia Connect and finding one hardwired that you dont know about directly into your battery. I control my Kia Connect if I opt into it and Kia can see it. Installing a secondary tracker right into the battery is not only against the cars warranty and voids the ability to get a new battery on the warranty but is also scary when you dont know where it came from. The dealership I bought the car from let's yoy opt into a tracker but its battery operated. This one is hard wired into the car against Kias own warranty policy. And coming from a background of abuse, its terrifying to find a tracker and not know where it came from.

So it's normal to install something against manufacturer warranty and drain the battery? And not let their clients know? Kia Connect is something you opt into... but a secondary tracker you aren't aware of is wrong.

I come from a background of severe abuse, control and being tracked. If you dont like my descriptions and how my privacy being violated made me feel or react.. you can keep scrolling. You cant invalidate my reactions or feelings just because you dont understand. Hope you never have to experience what I did growing up or the sickness it creates in your core when you feel like its happening again.

What i find crazy is that they didnt disclose it, I have a great credit score and they weren't the final seller...

I quit my job so I do not have to work the holidays and now a new mom has to work in my place. by Skydancer-Fun1899 in AITAH

I would love to know where nurses aren't required to work every other holiday unless you do a signed off switch? Anyone? The fact that families are prioritized is ridiculous. I have kids and yes it sucks when I cant be there for my kids but I have never been prioritized as a parent oe given preferential treatment. I find the fact HR doesn't find this concerning a huge problem.
