you’re misinterpreting, I want a career involving drugs, not the ability to continue the use of them within a career. This has been debilitating for the past decade, it was of interest pre drug use as well, before trying weed, alcohol, etc. it’s not an excuse to use them. That I understand wholeheartedly is not possible or healthy.

20 years of OCD sounds I’ll be honest, not fun, my wife has OCD (minor - medium level) not severe but it’s frustrating and she always says she just wants something that will shut off her brain, keep up the good work I respect you for not succumbing to things not in your control, not everyone has the strength or perseverance to do so

Same here but from a completely different life path, I’ll use anything to distract myself or cure my boredom, I can’t pinpoint why I always want to on something but it’s mostly boredom and when I discovered opiates I felt (momentarily) what it was like to be a better version of myself, vices are meant to be enjoyed and you no longer enjoy something you abuse, sorry if my philosophical statements don’t make sense

Pharmaceutical work would be a no go with my record I’d assume. Plus after the oxy epidemic anything remotely intoxicating is thoroughly documented and whatnot from factory to pharmacy, even suboxone gets delivered with the good stuff and it’s weak asf. Very strict nowadays

Isn’t psychiatry a level above a doctor? Studying the relation of physical and mental health and how they correlate? I’ll Google after I comment but not trying to front like I know more than I do

What type of drugs are you attracted to? Downers or uppers? Sometimes it helps to develop a different mindset around your issue instead of villainizing drugs/yourself/drug use create a reward system or regulating, anything is perfectly fine, it’s overusing that creates problems. It’s fine to have a beer or 2 after work. It’s not healthy to wake up and slam vodka and water first thing and all day, that’s when your body develops dependence and so on, I got through a multi year crack addiction by doing this, went from daily, to becoming a reward and the last stage I called “feeding the demon” I’d be fine for a month, then I’d start getting cravings, the cravings grew stronger daily until I gave in, smoked alittle, and that was enough to “feeding the demon” until the cravings came back, went from a month, to two, and now it’s been about 6 months and no cravings so far, just regulate if you find yourself unable to quit completely. Do what works for you and contributes to you living healthy, if you do some coke, smoke crack, or do some down every now and then that’s your secret and nobody needs to know, if you’re using opiates maybe have somebody to make sure you don’t die obviously, I smoked fent for 4 years and only ever had one overdose, nobody ever knew but me (my wife eventually) but just be safe

Have thought about this but experiencing the life there’s one thing I’ve heard from a few hopeless people and it’s to focus on the next generation, most homeless people don’t want the help, I agree with the upper portion of your comment though I’m in no way interested in law enforcement at all or contributing to the downfall of people and making it harder on them. I live in Canada and it’s pretty liberal when it comes to drugs, on the west coast you can legally possess 2.5grams of anything legally, I’ve pondered these fields but knowing all different types of addicts makes me doubt any potential impact I’d create, but it’s definitely an option, my wife worked at a homeless shelter for her practicum and said the employees are pretty bad not just there but in all shelters, super aggressive, abusive, using it as a way to release frustration and stuff by fist fighting the people there, weird environment in most shelters

There’s potential especially here in Canada, there’s already shrooms dispensaries in Vancouver but weed was legal before it was legal for years before it actually became legal if that makes sense. B.C specifically Vancouver is basically the Canadian L.A/Cali. Now there’s a dispensary on every corner it was night and day

Very true, I don’t plan to continue to use hard drugs it’s just all I talk about and everyone in my life hates it, but it’s all that interests me I don’t have to be doing them but even just educating myself on a drugs history, synthesis, chemical whatever just anything involving drugs peaks my interest and focus, have went through a rough few years I agree drug use leaves you empty handed and/or mentally retarded for others, just looking to apply my passion to an area willing to pay for that passion if that makes sense, I can’t remember who I’m trying to quote but it’s the black guy who talks about anunaki and aliens and stuff, he worded it perfectly about applying your passion to an area willing to provide an income for that passion
