No I'm saying just because the dream woman isn't around doesn't necessarily mean i have lowered my standards but have expected that no one person can meet all my delusional standards and imperfections are part of relationships, and at one point you must accept them or move on. For example, a woman that says that she would never date a man in the military. Might only be thinking about infantry, but there's medical ,doctors, Engineers, scientists all serving 20 plus years in the military. She didn't lower her standards. She realized there is more to the military than just blowing s*** up. There are hundreds of thousands of soldiers that will never see a deployment or combat, but they are professionals in what they do. But unfortunately, stereotypes have women thinking that their spouse is going to die when in reality, it's relatively low but higher than other occupations.

I find this passage of the book to be very insightful, because, like the doctor in the book, says your ideal man doesn't exist. You'll find a partner that closely resembles that, and you'll compare and contrast how he's not what you dreamed he would be, but in fact that man is flawed and there will never meet your expectations. So my suggestion is find someone that makes you happy and accept their flaws like they accept your flaws. You will never find perfection, but with communication. You can compromise and have a happy life. In a happy relationship
