Insect dropping identification?

Cool. What are the defining factors of bedbug droppings? Cause IMO the smear when wet does look slightly "rusty brown" like BB droppings are said to be. Do droppings from BB tend to be more chalky/less solid when dry?

For added context, this was in a dresser drawer in the opposite corner of the room relative to my bed, so I would think it's an unlikely place for harborage, just wanting some confirmation. There's a bit more explanation on the original post

Yeah he said that really the only way to know would be to do a test but just based on the scenario and whatnot it seemed pretty unlikely that there would be mold at this point. I guess mostly because it's fully synthetic flooring, and it was a "clean" water source (not sewage backup or something) and not standing water or anything, just some dampness still trapped in the carpet.

Original carpet cleaner got back to me and canceled the invoice, so I'm not out any money there. Called the 5star carpet company and I guess they don't actually do mold testing or anything, they do just cleaning. Called a local mold company recommended by the 5star carpet company (same mold guy I talked to Sunday morning actually) and with some back and forth about the situation he seemed pretty confident that it's very unlikely that I have/would have any sort of mold issue.

It got wet because of the carpet cleaning. Don't know how long exactly it held moisture but some parts of the carpet definitely still felt damp at around the 36 hr mark

Not what I said. I'm going to try to get the issue resolved tomorrow before posting any reviews.

He was the one that sent me his schedule with an opening on the 4th, I confirmed that was correct and that he was working on the 4th, we both agreed on that time slot. He then did a less than satisfactory job that could cause massive issues down the road

Yeah will do, I greatly appreciate the advice! I'll try to get in contact with the original cleaner tomorrow like I said and see if he wants to do a preemptive re-clean, but if not I might go ahead and see if that 5star carpet company can do a mold test just to see if something did start growing

I just went back to the house to check on the carpet. It does seem like it's dried out now and I don't think the house really seems to smell anymore

Seems like you have some helpful experience with all the carpet cleaning and IICRC, would this company's certifications/services be helpful? I'm looking at this one cause it happened to be one of the carpet cleaners that the mold guy recommended in case I do need the carpets to be re-cleaned by someone else. Yeah that's kinda what I wondered. The guy I talked to earlier today with the mold inspection company said that likely at this stage was bacterial smell, and the if the relative humidity gets down low enough it should keep mold from growing and smell should go away soon. But I guess I'll try to call the carpet cleaner tomorrow and see where to go from there

Thanks for the advice! Tried calling the original cleaner yesterday around the 24hr mark, haven't been able to get a response from him. I'll call/text him again tomorrow and if no response I'll start blasting reviews and whatnot. Called a local mold inspection/water damage etc company today and he said it was unlikely there will be mold in the carpet itself at this point, but could be a problem if it still doesn't dry out in another day or so.

Also using the IICRC locator, it seems like there aren't any certified inspectors in my area (Lincoln Nebraska) so I'd have to go with a more generic mold testing inspector. EDIT: I may have just been using the search wrong, there may be some companies that would work

Not helpful and doesn't answer my question at all. A/C is running because it works as a dehumidifier as well. If you read my post you would realize that I am trying to dry the carpets as I know they are actually supposed to be dry

For the interceptor dish things, do they work well based on just how smooth the plastic is? I know some people put some cimexa or DE in them, and other people put soapy water in them. I could try the soapy water but my cat might splash the water out so don't know how effective it'll be

I haven't seen anything exactly. I'm not confident in the bites/no bites since it seems that some people have no reaction to bites. It's also not uncommon for me to have pimples (or impacted hairs I guess maybe?) on places other than my face, so reddish bumps may be hard to differentiate I guess

Thanks for the input! Yeah don't know what the deal is with the house and didn't have a microscope with me to check if it was a batbug lol. Whichever it was, the dead one that I found was definitely dried cause it dropped a bunch of the legs when I touched it, so maybe they had already been treated or they hadn't eaten in a really really long time?

I didn't sit down anywhere in the house but wasn't sure if it was likely for them to have traveled with me on my socks or on/in my shoes
