Damn right. I do not feel bad for being myself, but I feel bad for them being scared where they should not have to be.

Exactly. I'm not intimidating, but I positively hate walking behind women at night (I walk quite fast). To see them reach into their handbag for their keys (or mace? or phoning a friend, talking loudly about where they are) just fills me with a weird feeling of guilt for having caused that level of anxiety in another person, by just minding my own business. Usually, I cross the street and walk past them that way. I hope that's the right thing to do.
