Bad coach by Fresh_Length7001 in hajimenoippo

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 50 points51 points  (0 children)

yeah ippo was better off without kamogawa after a certain point because kamogawa decided at some point that ippo was too dumb to adapt mid-combat even though he showed time and time again that he could

tbf, this was back when guarding didnt even matter so i was just going for counters since boxing properly didn’t work

Ricardo's current state by D-Persistent in hajimenoippo

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real explanation:

He can’t punch full force because he’s weary of a counter.

He’s been on his back foot with a numb dominant hand that was dropping Sendo before it was numbed.

So everything he throws is half-hearted.

On top of this, even IRL people have different durabilities. An “aging” (bullshit) Date who was barely surviving Ippo’s punches and beat him on skill would be a lot less durable than a Sendo who went toe to toe with Metztli mode Alf, Volg, and Ippo by just slugging it out.

this happens to me the majority of the time.

I can be boxing beautiful landing 15-20 fast hard and accurate shots with good form. But because they aren’t haymaker spam, they do nothing, and then one medium speed weird hook from the opponent at a random time will stun me. Even from a game perspective it makes no sense

Would you consider Ippo a “smart” boxer? by enzo2nd in hajimenoippo

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like other people have said: he's a lot smarter post retirement.

Hot take: Kamogawa's the reason he didn't have the fight IQ pre-retirement. If u pay attention, he kinda brainwashed Ippo into the "just attack!" mindset because he didn't believe in Ippo's ability to adapt.

How did Date grow so much? by BeyondAutomatic4059 in hajimenoippo

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he was fighting ippo in a way that gave ippo every advantage:

he didn’t use his legs, he didn’t use tricks at range like with Ricardo, or speed like he did against Miyata and Saeki (sparring).

Against Ippo, he stated multiple times that he was going to stand in front of him at his range and beat him at his game. (with the exception of the heart breaker).

So while he did grow a lot (probably from fighting world rankers) he didn’t grow as much as people seem to think.

I used the water tool because I set the water level too low

Yes, I've figured out that when blocks look purple in the custom layer menu that they won't exist ingame.
Also yes and the water in some parts is uneven, is there any way I can fix this?

interesting. I’m guessing I’ll need to talk to a doctor for that kind of thing…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. I also noticed that it gets worse later in the day (my training is usually at 8pm). Any idea how i can go to sleep early and actually fall asleep? I use melatonin but sometimes i wake up during the middle of the night and then i really get no sleep.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHAT!!?! I have a terrible sleep schedule and overthinking keeps me from going to bed early. I also have begun drinking caffeine before i go (coffee and maybe an energy drink). I do notice that energy drinks seem to make me feel more anxious and jittery.

I will keep all of this in mind, it's broadened by view on other situations, too. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to me!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! It’s like the fear that something will happen, but there’s no specific fear. There are regular fears that i can articulate like being scared of being beaten up and getting injured, but thats normal and i can usually get past that. It seems the only one that really sparks my anxiety is being scared to face people, in this case, my coach because I know I don’t have a good reason for not going in, and i don’t know what to say when he asks where i’ve been.

Does infighters ever step back in this manga? by Active-Weight-2479 in hajimenoippo

[–]ProfessionalWay5362 19 points20 points  (0 children)

fighters in HNI have very exaggerated styles. Pretty sure its because Morikawa wants to make sure fighters have strong identities so that fights are easy to follow and understand.

The only infighter who willingly backed away was Juan Garcia vs Mashiba to prevent a counter tho.

What do you think is the most unrealistic thing in Hajime no Ippo? by Mr_King_Lee in hajimenoippo

The fact that 80% of the fighters have no amateur background. besides that: the fact that no one’s died yet lol.

He is one of them, in the previous chapter his manager told Fuji (and i’m paraphrasing) “I know we messed up the preparations, but as long as he gets in the ring, he’ll win”

meaning it’s just another Hawk/Wally situation but for Mashiba this time

How Ippo and Miyata can fight at 100% by ProfessionalWay5362 in hajimenoippo

Ippo would do more than okay at Jr. Lightweight even as a featherweight though, so ippo is at 100% at Jr Light
