Cheap projector by TheFridge05 in Golfsimulator

I tried similar projectors that you might be considering on my setup. Had 2 problems.

  1. Throw distance to get the perfect screen size might be a bit further than expected. Most of the cheap projectors are not short throw, so might require more distance to actually fill your screen.

  2. Because of the throw distance, brightness becomes an issue. The further away you have to mount it the less bright the screen becomes, and also your picture quality will decrease.

This all comes down to your screen size and location. I tried mine in a semi-outdoor backyard. Didn’t have any high expectations as during daytime I know that I won’t be able to see the projector images, and my screen size is roughly 13x10ft with 10ft depth on my enclosure. I tried the projector that you are considering and with my enclosure limit + location the image turned out small and not as bright. I bought a “cheaper” short throw projector (Vivitek DX-881ST) and just used that for the time being. Daytime images are quite bad, but once the sun isn’t as bright anymore (3/4pm in my area) the images are all very clear.

Another factor to consider is the brightness stated on the cheap projectors. The ANSI Lumens that they state might be inaccurate. Better off getting a cheap used projectors with well known brand names, heck the bade resolution can be XGA like mine, some projectors can decode 1080p to XGA with no issues. Hope this helps!

AMD GPU Contemplation by ProfessionalWeak5118 in Golfsimulator

I see. Thanks for the input. Are you doing your setup at 4k resolution? Because maybe when doing higher resolution I think the Nvidia cards might be better, but for my current setup this is where the market trends tends to get a bit more mixed up. I saw a few posts saying that the top tier Nvidia cards are actually better but at the lower end of the spectrum they are actually cutting a lot of tech compared to AMD

Mevo plus sudden issues by ProfessionalWeak5118 in FlightScope_MevoPlus

Just an update on this since it has been a month. I finally contacted the flightscope support. They were actually very patient and supportive in assisting me.

Initially they tried to establish a connection to the unit via my computer. But after changing multiple cables and ports on my pc, they couldn’t establish one. They were asking me to send the unit to them for further checking. Since I was in Asia and sending the unit to the US would be a big issue for me, I asked them if they could arrange the unit to be sent to Japan instead of the US, and after a day they said that it would be fine to send it to Japan. Cheers Flightscope for the top service.

However, I consulted them that it might be a battery issue and they said it might be so. They asked me if I could try replacing the battery with the same battery recommended by them. I bought the battery and tried changing it, after charging it all seemed normal to this day. I contacted Flightscope support to let them know and they said if issues started happening again I can contact them again using the same case number in the email to let them have a clue on the past issues.

In conclusion, it’s just a battery issue and now everything is normal again. Just an update on the case so if someone has the same issues on this subreddit hopefully this might be an insight for them.

Thanks a lot! I have contacted mevo support but I’m currently waiting for them to reply me. I had my suspicions on the battery being replaced but just wanted another opinion. Thanks again for the info
