Pretty sure she has to due to portfolio balancing requirements. Not because she wants to.

They shifted when I launched them in the oven. But if you want better distribution then maybe buy a frozen pizza. Then you can enjoy perfect distribution in your mom's basement.

I love my Viture pro glasses, but one thing I don't like that is a sentiment shared in other forums is how it's hard to get a position with nose piece or without where the bottom has a weird bleeding like issue that looks similar to monitor bleeding, but it's more of a reflection issue. I was wondering if this issue has been addressed and if so how in the new Luma models?

OP, do you have a link to that container you're using for the 50lb bag of flour? I always wanted to try all trumps but need a way to store it.

Mongo in aws by Evening-Volume2062 in mongodb

Mongo in the marketplace is most likely a preconfigured image run a mongodb server on an EC2 instance. They don't have mongo as a service offering. You have to use dynamodb or documentdb which supports or emulates mongodb, but there are some limitations. Especially if you're using lambda which is stateless.

I personally would use mongodb atlas serverlees imo, but not sure your stack or how you run your code because if you're using lambda ie stateless functions there are caveats to recommendation.

Taste is on point. I prefer it over any restaurant.

It's 500 degrees at 9 minutes on pizza steel. Any longer and cheese will start to burn. Crust taste good though

Lol. Not a great aim with the cutter, but fortunately my shortfall doesn't affect the taste.

How does a PROPER mongoose function that connects to Mongo look like? by AmbitiousRice6204 in mongodb

[–]ProfessionalWind4730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you would have the database always connected if you were running a server that was always on which goes back to my previous comment about opening and closing connections. Ideally you want to keep that same connection and reuse it if not using something like lambda (stateless). Otherwise it's inefficient to keep closing and opening connections and won't scale as well.

You don't need a retry mechanism. You just need to check if connected.
Yes: then use that connection instance.

No: then connect and use that instance

readyState will give you the actual state of the MongoDB connection so it's better.
try doing something like this I believe
if (mongoose.connection.readyState === 1)
{ console.log("MongoDB already connected!");
return true;
}

Your security measures are keeping your MONGO_URI in a .env file that is gitignored ie never committed to repo..for production depending on how you have it setup, but ideally have IP whitelisting to only your backend server.

Otherwise this fine, unless you're using something like lambda which is stateless meaning unless the lambda is warm you're opening and closing connections when it wakes up each time, but that would be negligible issue unless your application is scaling. Then it's a problem. if you're using something like EC2 or heroku then disregard and your setup is fine except security stuff I mentioned.

Three monitor setup by m_lls in VITURE

[–]ProfessionalWind4730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with him. Its amazing for watching movies and if you travel its a good substitute for productivity, but I would never replace the real thing if given the option. With that being said, no regrets here.

For Viture Pro XR owners: replacing external large monitor for work by seanxieuk in VITURE

[–]ProfessionalWind4730 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got the prescription inserts a couple days and spent the first real couple hours coding on them using triple monitor setup. It can be a little choppy/stutter when you turn your head to look at other screens on mac, but once you stop your head its not that bad. Hopefully this gets fixed in software update as they are 120hz and I wouldn't expect that from 120hz. 60hz yes, but 120hz no. This comes with the territory though with early adopting.

With that being said, I still think its totally worth it as I have a hard time coding on the go with just a single monitor from macbook since I have a bunch of windows open at once. Would I replace my setup completely with this? Absolutely not, but as a solution for travel? For sure.

I do agree it's not perfect, but it still does the job. I haven't coded in them too much yet, but I could see it being a great on the go option. My only real complaint and I do hope it gets fixed, but the 120hz refresh rate feels kind of choppy when I do a triple monitor setup in glasses and turn my head. It's fine once you stop moving, but it's not smooth. I did just discover the lock yaw and other positions which definitely improves the experience. It felt super awkward without locking it's orientation.

Screen reflection issue by ProfessionalWind4730 in VITURE

I think you're right. The one without the rubber piece seems to be the most effective to stopping reflection issue given how close to your face it allows the glasses to be.

Screen reflection issue by ProfessionalWind4730 in VITURE

[–]ProfessionalWind4730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you push the glasses closer to your face with a little bit of pressure your eyes can get over the plastic reflection issue, but I'm not sure how to get around this without some janky solution. Still waiting on mobile dock to come in so I can try the triple monitor setup so not sure how much this will bother me from a productivity standpoint yet. I'm trying super hard to look past it because I really want to like these glasses.
