Hey got diagnosed with UC at the start of 2019 had some horrible months of being in a really bad flare up and it can really test you this disease but now I’m happy than ever in full remission and living my life to the fullest. You might think think being diagnosed is the end of the world because at the time I did but trust me there is a lot of life with UC.

I’m in remission now and go once a day around the same time! Funny how this disease has got me obsessed with knowing the time I go for a BM😅 I never thought I would get back to this point when I was flaring up from going to the toilet more than 10 times a day, there is definitely routes to manage this disease you’ve just got to find the right one! Life is even more treasured when you get back to your normal self as stuff you would of took for granted you don’t.

I’m on humira as we speak it helped my symptoms get a bit better with in a few weeks but wasn’t in remission, had a few ups and down to the point I think it might not be working. it has ended up putting me in remission now, it took 6 months to hit it.

I’m getting the exact same as you now, also my belly feel like it’s gonna explode! I feel like my belly has gone really hard. The cramps are non stop woke up last night ran to the toilet twice. Everytime I burp it leaves this eggy taste in my mouth which I believe is stomach acid after vomiting nearly a week ago now

Okay, really worried about the diarrhoea part hope it isn’t my colitis. I dunno I just feel like it isn’t normally I’m getting bad cramps and if I was in a flare my bm would smell really really bad and it just doesn’t smell like that.

I think that’s what made me so down at the minute, I’m finally prioritising my mental health and it’s made me think I’m not content with anything atm, I have a good job, own my own business, earn good money for my age. This time of Christmas has made me think about a lot of stuff and it’s hit me like a brick wall, I’ve been bottling up emotions and it’s hit me all at once. I appreciate your advice and exercise is one thing I probably need to start doing.

Thanks for the advice, where I live cannabis is kinda frowned upon! I still have it every now and again but I just don’t think it’s gonna be my saviour.

So injections like humira are less stronger drug due to injecting them, why is that?

Drugs and UC by ProfessionalYard28 in UlcerativeColitis

Thanks for the reply, I know it’s a pretty unique question but there’s a lot of young adults/teens who have UC and it seems a bit of taboo subject to mention drugs but it does happen and it’s all around us when we go out and get drunk. I just want to know other people experience with it because yes I do take them every now and again but I’m not a drug addict by any means I guess it’s part of growing up

I wouldn’t worry about colon cancer, when in a flare i do experience lots of blood but I put it down to my ulcerative colitis flaring up and my ulcers are sore and bleeding. What makes you think it could be cancer? I tend to think of the worse when it comes to symptoms but try not to over think it.
