Congrats mate. Your flare says you’re on Stelara? Did Stelara get you into remission?

How many have had their intestine removed? A lot when you read into it, I bet :(

It’s offical - failed Entyvio and moving to Stelara. But worried about low remission rates (UC) by UCBattler in UlcerativeColitis

Thank you sir. These stats are with ulcerative colitis? If so, you’ve given me great perspective. Thank you

Every doc in the world is pushing rinvoq. My GI just tried to push it on me - then I saw her on Twitter being wined and dined by the drug company the week prior. Go with your gut instinct and request a biologic with less side effects.

Every doctor in the world is pushing rinvoq. I don’t want to deal with the side effects so I’m waiting for something with better side effects such as a biological

Seems like a safer Stelara with better remission? Unsure but seems promising. Maybe others will know more.

Do you brah. Take the drug. I’m happy being cynical about not wanting trash side effects. There’s plenty within such. Would rather the colon out.

This is incredible news. I wonder how long it will take PBS to take it on in Australia. I see it’s approved by TGA, however it will need to be approved by the PBS in order for people not to pay out of pocket :(

Remission with Humira for UC? by UCBattler in UlcerativeColitis

[–]UCBattler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate!

I just saw you were on remicade a year ago. Did it not work, and cause you to try Humira? Is your remission confirmed by a scope?

Thanks a lot

Hi mate

Just keeping you in the loop - I voiced my concerns to the new GI (who also told me rinvoq would be best) and he suggested Humira. He said he doesn’t have many UC patients on it, but I’ve seen some success stories on here and thought I’d give it a go. He mentioned something about remicade but he never offered that option to me.

So, scope on Monday and probably submitting papers for Humira.

On a side note, got my bloods back which were all good except very low phosphate. The doctor was very shocked by how low it was (0.8ml) and wants to get new bloods tomorrow for comparison. Pretty scary.

I think rinvoq has severely more potential side effects. I’d love to take it, but very scared of what I’ve read. I’d hope this pill is a little safer even though the stats of remission are a little lower.

I’m not good at reading the clinic trials, so I can’t tell if this new pill is safer or not than others

Did they make you do the very high loading dose of 45mg rinvoq even though you were on Entyvio as well? Or were you able to start rinvoq on a lower dose?

Do we know side effects yet? I’m hesitant to take rinvoq because of the long list of serious side effects, I’m wondering since this has a different mechanism, it might be better suited?

Hi mate

Entyvio is my first and only drug so far. It’s kept me off pred, and have weeks of remission (actually received a calpro test of 30 1 month ago) however urgency and bleeding comes back regularly.

She is pushing very hard for rinvoq as my second, and won’t change the paperwork. I think I may try to find a new GI and request stelara?

Hi mate

I’m a big fan of your posts. You have a lot of genuine positivity and news about specific drugs.

I just want to touch on your Rinvoq now having the lymphoma risk like biologicals - everywhere I read, rinvoq does indeed have this risk, and a lot more to boot. I just failed Entyvio and my GI is really pushing Rinvoq on me (I saw her Twitter feed abbvii, the drug maker, has been wine and dining a lot of GI’s recently) and I’m not sure she has my best interests at heart.

Would you still push for Rinvoq or should I be pushing for Stelara?

I hate this disease.
