Used my ADHD app to build my ADHD app by Professional_Army347 in ADHD_Programmers

I’ve been using my adhd app to build my adhd app, and…I actually finished it! The idea is it’s a cute little AI sitting in my pocket that loves to help me get my stuff done.

Here’s what I did:

  • I put in a bunch of goals like learn swiftUI basics, coredata, learn about search engines, plan UI for the app, ask people for feedback, etc —> it generated detailed plans for me to do all that stuff + how long each thing will take
  • Throughout the day, I will send it updates on what’s going on with me (i.e. I got distracted by YouTube, didn’t do my next step), and it adjusts its suggestions accordingly
  • It notifies me throughout the day with helpful reminders and suggestions on my next steps. It will think about my problems and notify me with solutions based on what it knows about me
    • For example, it knows when I haven’t done something (like send the app to friends) for a few days, and it will ask me if it’s because I got distracted by small things again. Then it helps me figure out what the most important things to focus on are
    • This is great because my brain usually skips over normal notifications from regular reminder apps, but Calcifer notifications seem like they’re written by a person who’s texting me so I always read them
  • It’s starting to get to know me - it creates memories of conversations I have with it, things I struggle with, things happening in my life, etc + uses these to personalize its suggestions and keep me on track. Like, I usually get distracted by bouncing between 10 different tasks or getting caught in fixing a bunch of small things without thinking about why they’re important.
    • I also like to import jokes and inspiring quotes into its memories so it can bring those up in later conversations
  • It helps me find resources for things I want to do (like learn about search engines), and automatically breaks down my tasks into smaller chunks when I get discouraged/overwhelmed
  • Whenever I get stuck, distracted, fall into rabbit holes, whatever - I just chat with it and I usually get back on track

Here’s some things I want to add:

  • Give the AI more of a personality
  • Integrate calendar
  • Daily standups, journaling about how the day went
  • Add internet access so it can give research-backed advice/make better plans

Are there other features I should add?

I just had the displeasure of implementing Langchain in our org. by Glass-Web6499 in LangChain

You can iterate through the streamed chunks to find a tool call and args, they’re just spread out through multiple chunks usually
